Re: This can’t be legal, can it?

Okay, but isn't this project under GPL? My understanding is that the IP "owner" (unless explicitly defined) is the person who wrote their part of the code. If I'm correct on that, then any person who wrote code for the UQM project can lodge a complaint. Disclaimer: I'm not a lawyer (should be obviou...

the writing style was closer to Fred and Paul than a corporate drone.
I had the exact same thought about it. If so, they seem to have been writing about themselves in third person (entirely possible, of course).
The author is of interest to me, but I don't recall if it was signed.

Well that's fancy. I did a quick google search. Looks like the only thing MT Software Solution sells is other people's software.
They must have a loophole or some form of anonymity. I guess the internet is the new "back of a random van".

Re: About to try to beat Star Control 2...no spoilers!

If you want to do it with style, you should have 16 high-capacity fuel tanks, and not more than 1 fuel left when you make the deal. +1... It's almost OP. I recall doing the same thing with the Druuge + Portal Spawner. Had to put a weight on my keyboard and walk away to unload because my computer ra...

Congratulations Troglodyte!

I'm a bit late to the *party*, but I knew you could do it!

Speaking of being late, I've still got a lot of catching up to do. I'm still on page 46. I think your excessive time travel set me back 100 pages.

Re: About to try to beat Star Control 2...no spoilers!

haha, made you look! Yes, you did. Does the umgah drone have more downforce than other ships due to its spoiler? I expect this is probably the case, I'm pretty sure I've seen this in action. However, it's more important to note that that the spoiler is actually intended to provide lift when reversi...

Re: About to try to beat Star Control 2...no spoilers!

You've got that backwards. The Horde was released several years after SC2, so Wimbli's Trident is actually an easter egg reference to SC2, not the other way around. And TFB is Paul and Fred's company, so The Horde is one of their games as well, though I'm not sure what year they actually started us...

Re: About to try to beat Star Control 2...no spoilers!

I actually liked it. It's not as if you'd get to see an explosion develop and recognize the beauty of it. On that distance, you'll have had more than enough unexpected extratime if your eye-nerves have been able to transmit the light to your brain, even more so if your brain was able to transmit th...

Re: Sequels strife

What I get out of that is that Stardock may continue to use some of P&F’s alien races as long as they’re different enough from what was described. This seems like it opens the door to possible future conflicts about what is “different enough.” I dunno? Always a concern, but that's also a summary of...
