SC 3 sound probs

I started playing SC 2 about a year ago, and only decided to join this board today.....  I love that game...

anyway, I    FINALLY   got my hands on SC3... the only problem is that my sound card is built into my motherboard and is too new to be recognised... So i switched to a Soundblaster live 5.1...........  still too new... grrr  does anybody know if there's a patch or something out to 'modernize' the setsound thing?

Just use the sound blaster pro or which ever it is I don't recall quite, I know I got sound working with windows xp and a sound blaster audigy (newer than live 5.1, just in case you didn't know ;-))

  I have a possible solution for the sound problem.
Get Vdmsound to emulate a sb16 soundcard for old programs under w2000/wxp. I managed to configure it for a couple of old games.

But I have problems with de graphic driver in sc3 under w2000. It requires me to load univesa drivers.
Did yo have any problem with the graphic resolution? what graphic card do you have?

I did use VDM, though I did get SC3 sound working without it, other games however were a diffrent story and VDM did help..

here's how i fixed the problem......

i built up a meta-dos box.... it's better than a dos box but not better than a shovel to the head...
anyway, i just installed it like that....
now the only problem is is that i got the game from an abandonware site or something...  
there's no speech!

the only sound is that music in the background, the rest isn't even included

aah what am i complaining about..... you get what you pay for, as they say!

does anybody know where i can BUY starcon 3?.... I live in Canada, if it matters.....

i can't log in.... i use my user name and password, i log in alright, but then i can't modify my profile and stuff and have to post as a guest!

Ive been seriously considering selling my copy, just cause I want money... so sad, money to buy more computer hardware lol, but it's probably worth more to me than i could sell it for...
