I'd have said His Dark Materials, but there's more than one bear and some actually effective-looking combatants riding the bears, rather than a rather annoying little girl with a magic barometer and a knife-wielding hooligan boyfriend.

I'm pretty sure it's a Warhammer 40K thing. Link to post with picture of actual miniatures. I suppose they might be in some W40K computer game as well.

Nope.  Those miniatures are custom-jobs.  It's not a 40K picture; it doesn't have any of the distinctive weapons or iconography.

Really? i always thought Bear Cavalry was a Warhammer thing. It sounds so darn Warhammer. But I guess I'll trust the experts.

Oh, it does sound very Warhammer, and I'm pretty sure that there's some Polish (well, "Kislevite," anyway) king in Warhammer that rides a bear, but those guys aren't him.
