Strategy Games

It seems that there's a recent spike in new strategy games on the market. I mean, first we got Supreme Commander (Great game IMO), then we received Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium wars (Rock Solid as usual) and then we have Empire Earth III coming up this summer, which promises a revamped gameplay and a killer AI that doesn't need to cheat to beat a human opponent (FINALLY! )

So, is it just me or is there some kind of pattern here?

perhaps good games are making a come back? instead all the recent FPS stuff that seems to have no end and to almost all be the same.
