I don't have a credit card and I am a non US resident.
What are my options?

They've just put in share*it (www.shareit.com) as well as PayPal, they appear to take cheques, money orders and even straight cash ?

I used Paypal though so you would need to check it out.

Yes, it's a shame about that, from their site --

Non-US residents and people with certain types of credit card have to pay a one off $1.95 fee to cover validating their credit card.  This fee then shows up on the next statement with a 4digit code which must be typed back in to activate the account and validate the card. You can then get the $1.95 back, so it doesn't really cost anything.

Wish they would be a bit more "rest of the world" friendly, still they are reliable, just a bit complicated. Shame you'll never see this game in a shop really.

Oh yeh - the full version of the game is very good, i've finished it and it took about 10hours of game time which isn't too bad.  ;D

Story is okish, mining gets a bit of a drag after a while and I got stuck a couple of times (har d bosses), but quite good overall. Very very pretty.

I know people must be sick of hearing this, but is there a legal working version of SC2 anywhere. My old version doesn't work under win2k even in compatibility mode. Maybe someone knows a trick to get it to work under w2k?

This game (Starscape) was definitely inspired by StarControl, it certainly isn't SC4 sadly, but definitely worth checking out in the meantime.

Defintely got a nice mix of space exploration, shootemup, backstory and ship customisation.
