Luki, Erek, good to have you on board. I'll do another post later tonight after I draft another 50 pages of my thesis.
UPDATE: Completed. Posted.
The writing feels a bit forced to me, but honestly, I've got too many electro-mechanical fundamentals buzzing through my head to be able to write better. Plus I'm drunk for the last time I'll be allowed to be for five years, so it's a pretty good level of wasted.
All non-taken races, and all crewmembers (aside from Nyquist) are playable now, but only members of the crew of the Wayfarer are aware of the PRESENT. If you want to play a crew member feel free; I think it'd be interesting to have them all split up and get into their own little adventures. They can even go back-and-forth between timeframes, and in fact, may be commanded to by the captain at various points. It's pretty open-ended, and I'd prefer not to have to play eight or so crewmembers by myself.
Keep in mind that the Wayfarer isn't going to be detected or destroyed easily as it's a battleship with over 300 years of advanced technology behind it. I removed a sequence in Orz space where it destroyed a dozen Nemesis' merely with its automated weapons.
Again, this is open ended. Feel free to do what you want aside from having your race commit mass suicide. Really, the only races which are required to survive this story... at least, the PAST part of this story... are the Melnorme, VUX, Earthlings, and Supox. If someone wants to kill them off in the PRESENT that's cool as long as it's done well. The Wayfarer is basicly a seed ship, so even extinct races will come back when she returns home.
Also, for reference, the Grand Council events and timeframe will be referred to OOC and by the Wayfarer crew as the PAST, while the Wayfarer's original timeframe is the PRESENT. Currently, the crew is in the PAST. If anyone is going to timetravel, they must go to the PAST or the PRESENT. Anyone who has a reason to can timetravel, though, as long as it's roleplayed within reason and has a purpose.
