Which ship (AI-controlled) do  you think is easiest to destroy, given its point value?

I've found the Ur-Quan Kzer-za is fairly simple.  Fly in the direct opposite direction of it; its fighters will follow you, depleting its energy.  When you cross the screen, hit the mother ship, it won't have that much energy to hit you.

With another capital ship, I've done this without losing any crew.

Which version of the AI is this?

SC1?  SC2?

I think the SC2 (oh wait I mean UQM) Human AI is pathetically easy to beat, since it seems to have an aversion to firing toward the enemy.

I have literally seen the ship do such stupid things:

it was flying full speed backward, facing the pursuing enemy.  It turned around, fired a nuke, and turned back around to face the enemy!

I've been playing the UQM AI mostly (is there any difference from SC2?).

The AI can be a bit screwy.  The Androsynth, for example, cuts the planet too close, and essentially commits suicide.  This is more of a pathing issue, though...

Hey here's 2 ships I personally had NO problems with beating.

Kohr-ah: simply fly away from it (with your Precursor ship) and it will follow, now turn around and fire in between the disks. (this is easyer with guiding) and evade the disks. The first 2 shots will be blocked by that Fire ring thing, but then he runs out of energy and it's rather easy to kill.

VUX: Use the Spathi ship, then get close, turn around, accelerate and fire those but-missles. repeat this until he's dead (don't get Too close, or you're fried)

blablablabla...

looking at your story, i think the Cruiser is made to RUN AWAY (cowardly!), then turn around (making it facing the enemy) THEN fire, and then turn around again, running..

thats probably cause of the cruisers lack of speed (admit it, the cruiser S....s cause of the speed limit!)

I have seen this too, and you know what? I've had the nuke wrap around in the dead zone of the screen and hit me! The first time that happened I was like, "What the!" Then I was really impressed adn tried it myself. Sometimes turning around can be the best way to hit them because they can't dodge what they can't see (Human players), sometimes it's actually a shorter route, depending on where you're headed, and against slower turning ratio's, chances are they won't shoot down your nuke if it comes a them from behind.

So, not so stupid, really.
main(){char b[11]="\toooo.OOOO";int e=5,n,t=0;puts("\t123456789");puts(b);for(;n
&&strcmp("\tOOOO.oooo",b);puts(b)){n=getche();if(n-='0'){if(n>0&&n<=9&&(abs(n-e)
==2||abs(n-e)==1)){b[e]=b[n];b[n]='.';e=n;t++;}}}if(n)printf("\n%d moves\n",t);}

The Mycon are fodder to almost any other ship

No, Mycon are NOT fodder for any other type of ship: I can destroy quite a few ships with a Podship.

Indeed.  Given a bit of luck (and a good gravity whip)  some ships have no hope of beating a Mycon!

"almost" any other, not all others.  And if its human against computer Mycon, then it gets much easier

I can run circles around a Mycon with an Arilou, but against the computer, I use Mycons to kill Arilou.  The AI always tries to shoot down the plasmoids and it doesnt hyperspace jump away all the time

ehm.. Mycon is bad imho... cause if my enemy uses it, and he kills me, i get myself a ship that CAn handle a mycon.. so the mycon has only 1 kill for 1 ship (itself) so acutally the mycon is worth nothing in this example... owell..

I always use the random button when choosing ships{ It balances ships, for instance, if one player gets a Ur-Quan the other side dosen't get to choosing a Utwig or Chmmr immedietly(allowing the Ur-Quan a chance)}

You can do the same for Kzer-za.
Oh no! Its one of those ultra-gross humans again!
