You're kidding, right?

At a few of these are ripoffs of other peoples' models you just ran through various filters, have added a few small things to, or just plain took parts away from.

You could at least cite the source images you stole.

All in all these look like a child put play-doh and various colored inks into a bowl, put the bowl into the microwave, and used a webcam to capture the results.  And don't even get me started on the story or mechanics of the ships/races.

Stick to furry art, son.

If someone who'd never previously heard of star control saw those pictures AND read the accompanying articles, they'd assume it was a terrible game and not even try it.  I don't approve of THAT.

But thanks for your opinion of MY opinion.  Especially because I live my life for the sole purpose of gaining your approval.  I guess I'll have to kill myself now  

Maybe you should man up and have an opinion of your own before giving you complain of the opinions of others.  Way to make that first post you contribute meaningful.

thats ok his opinion doesnt count.  he doesnt like me anyway.  and yes, i told chad that i took the images from other peoples images.

i dont have a cd rendering program so i have to make use of what i have.

and whats wrong with the stories?  they are my creations so i can do whatever the hell i want.

kings -- I'm not repulsed by your work because I hate you.  There's plenty of talented people I don't care for who make excellent art.  You just happen to be an untalented person in this situation.

It's not that I dislike your work due to the lack of intelligence, and lack of "net"tiquitte associated with such intelligence, you've exhibited in the past.  I just dislike the work due to your artistic ability -- or failure to show any.

I'm insulted that you attribute my harsh critisizm to my personal feelings toward you, and not to the fact that the art looks like something an autistic badger attacking a keyboard could produce in MS Paint.

Don't be surprised if it's shared.  One of your abominations even has some outlandish story about a horrible parasitic relationship with the Spathi -- and that's not even the worst part of it.

I didn't bother to count how many times "rip the hull to shreds" or something absurdly similar was used to describe how powerful a ship was.  Tracking weapons that curve around planets and asteroids are another delightful "what the hell?" moment.

  Well you did ask for our opinions!    My opinion is that this is the worst thread I've ever seen on this board.  The rudness, the bad spelling, the almost complete lack of meaning, all of it just builds up into this really stirring monument to awfulness.

hey i know i asked for opinions.  i want them.  im not arguing with him, he just takes things a bit too far.  

he's a rude, unhappy person who finds the time to post over 1000 negative messages on this board.  i dont understand why someone feels compelled to be rude to every person he possibly can.

a simple, "i dont like ur stuff because......."  would have sufficed.

but hey, thats his opinion, doesnt mean i respect it, but hes entitled to it.

so getting back on coarse, what are yalls opinions?

Actually, I'm a rude, HAPPY person, and not all of my comments are negative.  Read my post above where I say only a fool dislikes that which he has no knowledge of.  Besides, an opinion can't really be "rude" now can it?

A lot of it is lame, other parts repetitive, and some just not fitting with the Star Control universe (such as the Slylandro uplifting the race of the "Dhrk"), but you have to start somewhere.

Anyway, it's not horrible, it just needs a bit (okay, a lot) of editting, several refinements, and a bit more detail, and it wouldn't be to bad.
