Glowing Rod, Shofixti, Rainbow Worlds' meaning
« on: March 02, 2004, 07:29:36 am »
Hi. I'm a SC2 veteran, completed the game "like a 1000 times" over the years... However I still have couple of mysteries bothering me.

1. The Glowing Rod. Can It be found somewhere? The Druuge mention it in the game and the Pages of Now& Forever show it on the devices list.

2. The Shofixti. I've never made contact any other than Tanaka but I'm aware that there is another Shofixti somewhere. Where do I find him?

3. After I find all the Rainbow Worlds, should I discover something special? And where?

I would appreciate if somebody could enlighten me on these matters.
Thank You.

Spoiler Warning!

1) I believe you can trade to the Druuge for it?  It doesn't actually do anything, so I never did... can someone verify this please?

2) Admiral ZEX has female Shofixti.  I won't give the whole quest away.

3) Not really.  The creators were originally planning to have a hidden conversation at Groombridge, but it never got into the game.

1)  Yes, the Druuge have the Glowing Rod, Rosy Sphere, Wimbli's trident (see below), and some other thing which I can't think of offhand.  The rod is useless.

2)  The second Shofixti is Tanaka's brother, Katana.  The only way to find him is to "accidently" kill Tanaka.  Katana will then appear in his stead.

3)  The rainbow worlds roughly point to Groobridge.  Had the game been "finished" you would have brought Wimbli's Trident to the system, used it, and discovered a secret.

Oh? And what was this "Wimbli-Groombridge" secret going to be?

Please point me towards the right topic if it's posted somewhere else...

Also, be sure to check out Magic Box, the Toys for Bob fansite.  You can find some interesting stuff there, including some BETA and development images of SC2.  Some of which has to do with that Groombridge thing you're wondering about.  You can find a link over at The Pages of Now and Forever, or PNF for short.

The only 'unclear' thing left is that you must actually 'sell' your crew for the Trident and the Rod. There is no other way to get them...

I don't remember offhand.  I never traded either of them, though the burvixese caster is a good alternative.

Afraid not... They only do a "special offer" with the rosy sphere because you need it in the game. You have to buy the other arifacts with crew.  :'(

Use the spare caster to buy the sphere, and the MYcon pod fragments to buy the other stuff.  Taadaa, no crew used.
