The Grand Council
« on: October 26, 2003, 09:55:42 am »
Melnorme Diplo-Droid #3396 -- Neutral Arbiter

Welcome, everyone, to this very important meeting.  What stands before you is a task without equal -- you are to decide the face, and indeed the fate, of your mutual home.  No one here can begin to describe the importance of what you will accomplish, but surely you all understand that there is no alternative to the successful completion of this diplomatic session.

For those concerned, I am merely a neutral arbiter and record keeper.  I will show no favor to any race.  I am here to ensure the fair representation of all races' interests, and that all voices are heard equally.  Now ladies, gentlemen, and non-gendered individuals, these proceedings are oficially underway.

Zoq: Greetings honoured representatives.

Fot: Howdy!

Pik: <silence>

Zoq: We come before you in the hope of beginning a new era of peace and cooperation.

Fot: But try anything sneaky and we'll blow you to bits!

Zoq: Please excuse my friend here, he's just a little nervous.

Fot: Am not!

Zoq: Are too.

Fot: Am not!

Zoq: Are too!

Fot: Am not!

Pik: <Silence>

Zoq: Anyway, we are most interested to hear suggestions on future directions from all of the other representatives here.

Fot: Although our ideas are WAY better.

Pik: <silence>

Greetings from the Utwig Proctorate. I, Diplomat Fwizzle, would ask why a large contingent of Orz vessels are moving towards our homeworld? Please respond. We realize it could be just that you do not know where our borders reside, so we still wish for peace between our to nations.

Greetings fellow friendly sentients. I am Ambassador Snargle, here to represent the population of Spathiwa. First allow me to apoligize for my late arrival. Getting our crew prepared for travel in deep space after spending such a long time under our protective shield was not an easy task, as you might imagine. Many of our crew, myself included, were uneasy about this whole "travel" thing, and were afraid of emerging into space, for fear of being slowly and painfully devoured by a surprise attack from THE ULTIMATE EVIL. We hope that during this session we may be able outline the threat THE ULTIMATE EVIL presents to the universe at large, and ways to deter their inevitable onslaught.

Greeting honoured fellow diplomats. I am Ichiban, the Shofixti ambassador. It is a great honour to stand amongst my fellow diplomats, and I am sure that we will all strive towards making this conference a shining bright light in the darkness.

I would like to start by bringing up a topic that lies very close to the heart of the reborn Shofixti people.

As you all know, our race is rapidly regaining numbers, as we are trying to rebuild our poulation to a pre-war level. however, most of our cities and factories were destroyed when we performed our Ultimate Sacrifice to stop the Ur-Quan.

The Shofixti worlds are in dire need of machinery and assistance. Our position is that it is that the Yehat, having left us on our own, are now honour bound to assist us in rebuilding our civilisation. It should also be noted that due to the large amount of Shofixti that gave their lives in the name of the New Alliance Of Free Stars, we feel that any and all races that had participated in this owe us an honour debt, and should assist in the reconstruction.

I am sure that you will all fullfill the obligations of duty and honour.

BRAAK!!! Yeall decide "the fate of the world" without me? BRAAAK!!! I am Yeep-Eep, and i represent the Yehat... We will help the Shofixti nation, and weel make sure that they get the technology and materials they need, our factories are waiting to make everything they want.

Also, we should decide how weel stop a threat from a possible future enemy. Also, id like to get the technology of the Utwig Jugger, to increase the Terminators shielding, maybe we can even make a better shield with our two technologies combined.

greetings...

The Shofixti Empire, through me, the lowly Ambassador Ichiban extends its gratitude to the Utwig and Yehat Nations. We will shortlly be sending you a list of what we require from you through normal diplomatic channels.

The Shofixti Empire would also like to state that they stand firmly behind their honoured allies, the Utwig, in the matter of the current concentration of Orz forces within the Utwig sphere of influence. We believe that the Orz Ambassador should attend this matter as soon as possible, to defuse the situation and dispel any uncertainties. A breach of borders is a serious matter, and if the honour of our Utwig allies has been impeached, we will not hesitate to join them in a quest to restore said honour.

Furthermore, the glorious Shofixti Empire would like to bring up the issue of the abandoned Pkunk worlds. Does the current Yehat Nation make any claims on these abandoned worlds after the unification of their species, or are they now counted as uninhabited world that may be incorporated into any nation?

Ambassador Yeep-eep, the Utwig nation has decided to give you our shielding technology. But we ask that you provide us with the Pkunk Fury engine paramaters, in exchange.(/Puts on Mask of Honorable Exchange/)

Diplomat Fwizzle, The Yehat Nation agrees with your proposal, we will trade the pkunk fury engine parameters -though they are very valuable for us- for the Utwig Jugger shield blueprints. We hope that this trade will result in more trades, and better economies for both our nations.

About the abandoned pkunk worlds, The Yehat nation hasnt decided yet what to do with them, maybe we could create a large, "free for all" space around those planets, where everyone could be if he or she likes to, and where violence is not allowed.

Greetings, I am Lord 342

My sincere apoligies on behalf of both the Ur-quan Races. We have had trouble coming here because of our limited supply of ships at the moment. I am here representing both the Kzer-za and Kohr-ah and would like this meeting to be more fruitfull then the ones before the war.

Now before we begin discussing matters related to the war itself, I would like to say that we will do our utmost best to restore the damage we have done. We also have a suggestion as to how to make sure an incident like this, or like the one we had wich lead to this war, will never occur again.

I hope everyone won't mind if I stay here... in the corner. I get very anxious when I'm to close to other beings.

*retracts into his shell at the entrance of the Kzer-Za diplomat*

(speaking from within his shell)

I am very interested in hearing your proposal, Lord 342. Though we Spathi believe peace to be an illusion, any oppurtunity for such should be taken. Especially from our wise and powerful former masters, who we hope would come to our rescue should some meanies decide to pick fights with us poor Spathi.

Speaking of meanies, has the Umgah diplomat arrived yet? No? Oh good. We should certainly be wary of their...quirkiness. Though I mean no disrespect toward them, of course.

The glorious Shofixti Empire acknowledges the presence of the honourless Ur-Quans.

However, we would like to lodge a formal complaint. On what grounds are the Ur-Quan permittted to take part in an equal meeting of species. As defeated foes they have no business sitting here among us. While we do understand the need of peaceful coexistence with the Ur-Quan in this sector of the galaxy, we feel that they should not have a vote in the Grand Council. The scourge of the Ur-Quan do not even belong to this sector, and therefore the Shofixti Empire proposes to have these... creatures removed from the council. Let them listen to what the Council decides, and abide by it lest they be destroyed.

<Three Androsynthetics walk into the room, one male two female, and take positions at the table>

Our people are now inhabiting the Chandrasekhar systems.  We were rescued from the Orz native space by the Arilou whom, along with the Umgah, have formally agreed to provide protection for our people against the Orz -- who are still attempting to pursue us.

Honorable Shofixti delegate, your words ring quite boldly throughout these halls.  Truly, it cannot be denied that the Ur-Quan were beaten in battle, due in large part to the noble sacrifice of your people.

However, I ask you to please consider that you take the opportunity to completely annihilate your enemy.  A wise man said that an enemy defeated merely awaits another chance to attack, while an enemy befriended is truly vanquished.  Would not the Shofixti name be recalled with great admiration from this day forth by the Ur-Quan for your mercy, insight, and leading them into true nobility by your example, such as the Yehat race is recognized by yourselves?

To the rest of the delegates, I present the desires of the Androsynthetic nation:

One:  We demand full access to all resources we left behind in the Vulpeculae system.  We, along with the Arilou, believe that if accessed, the information and industrial base we left behind would put the Orz in position to threaten the entire known universe.  Furthermore, we wish that all Vulpeculae systems be returned to us and the Orz holdings in this *space* be limited to the Lalande systems.

Two:  We demand that the Thrall status, as opposed to Alliance and Independant status, still be recognized.  We have discussed this idea with other Thrall races, and those who do not intend to be part of the Alliance or an independant nation wish to remain part of this organization, henceforth called the "Axiom".  The Axiom will remain a conglomoration of races, equal to but seperate from the Alliance, and will have no "ruling race".  Also, all races which wish to join the Axiom and abandon their Alliance or Independant status are welcomed.

Three:  We would like for the Alliance to more clearly state its purposes, so that the Axiom may choose goals that would not oppose or otherwise complicate the successful pursuits of the Alliance.  We believe that it is best to have these bodies work together, such as a sword and a shield, to accomplish that which is in the best interest of both organizations, as well as the individual member races composing each.

Finally, regarding the Orz fleet heading toward Utwig space -- they must be stopped, if not by negotiations, then by force.  The Orz are a terrible and powerful *creature*, and they have a purpose for their pursuits.  We do have an idea of their agenda, however, we cannot be sure.  Truly it is malevolent.

Using the Quasi-space technology taken from vanquished Nemesis ships while *below* and refined by our allies the Arilou, we are waiting for the go-ahead from the Utwig Proctorate to dispatch a batallion roughly twice the size of the Orz force.  Our forces consist of Guardian Mk II's, which have been enhanced with Umgah technology.  We predict less than 5% losses which, if incurred, will lead to the Androsynthetic nation declaring war upon the Orz with the full backing of all Axiom races.

<The Androsynth turns to the Orz diplomat>

This time, we're ready.
In a world where one man could change the world,
One man changed the world!

WORLD CHANGER: CHANGER OF WORLDS

The day the world changed
Will be known as the day that changed the world
