So, what makes the members of the SC community happy, except for playing Star Control?

speaking for myself I think one fo the best things in the world is to curl up in front of an open fire with a glass of whiskey and a lovable lass.

And If I knew the secret of life, I doubt I'd spend so much time updating a website  :P

My love makes me content, writing makes me fulfilled, eating makes me satisfied, smoking makes me docile.

Getting some art done makes me happy.  Playing with my kids makes me happy.  Finding a particularly toothsome Lensman technical datum makes me happy.  Shit, a lot of things make me happy.  Censorship makes me mad.  Shit.

I demand that you tell us about your children.

...Sorry, I just felt like posing that in a pointlessly agressive way.

I second Lukipela.

Hmm, let's see...
Serenity.
Art in many of it's forms.
(Creativity, creation.)
Communication.
Food.

... and on a lesser note, arcade games.

EDIT:  (Noticing Viropher's post)
*Sits back and wonders about the supposed board rules.*

Heh.  Well, there's Alek, age 3.  He loves playing Super Mario Sunshine, and is rather good at it (for a three-year-old, I guess.)  He also like Superman a lot. He watches a bit too much TV, Nickelodian (a kids cable channel) mostly.  He's slightly autistic, so sometime normal sensations can be painful, but he improving constantly.  He's quite a twittering little bird lately, constantly talking about whatever he's interested in.
Henry is age 1, and just learned how to walk.  Very cute.  Rather uninterestingly normal compared to Alek.  Very loud on occasion.  Eats whatever he can find on the floor, if we let him.  His big new thing is taking things out of and putting them into containers.  Some very high resolution pictures at http://www20.brinkster.com/pariahpress/kids/kids.htm.  BE warned, they're really more for printing than looking at on your screen; they're BIG!
Alek is going to school (the slight autism thing means he needs a little extra prep time to get him ready for the tedious structure of school.)  He and Henry have been getting along pretty well lately.  Alek mimics Henry and chases him around the apartment, going to crawling when Henry does, and they both laugh uproariously.  I was really worried about Alek for a while there, but I think he'll be able to fit into "normal" society okay.  He may be a little "off" in some ways, but he seems like he has the right temperment to be an engineer or something.  It's a good thing I don't worry about my action figures being in mint condition, with these two around!   ;D  Uh, is that enough, sir?

Yes - you may go now.

...Oh yeah, the posting rules. You know, I haven't actually read them. I suppose I should go and do that now...

Hmm... what makes me happy? Listening to good music, playing computer & video games and watching good movies. Oh, and playing drums is fun too ;D

EDIT: Oh, I almost forgot, I also like doing things with Photoshop. Although I'm not very talented... yet ;)

Serenity is a good one. It's amazing how hard it seems to be now adays to find a really serene place, or get to be in a truly serene mood. Life is just way too stressful nowadays. I miss my youth...

Considering Modern, Golden, Medieval, Roman... and so many other times, I often wonder wether or not Youth is a state of mind.
