Not a PDF, but I made a browser based version of it some time ago.

There's no real reward for winning except to see "A WINNER IS YOU!!1", and no real punishment for failure except a giant "FAILURE!" printed on screen. In reality I took this out of a larger system I had made which was one step in a long series of tests. This was by far the easiest since you could easily Google for the answers. None of the other steps were NEARLY as kind. >:D

And see here for a JavaScript based "code wheel" for the answers.

The UQM vrsion doesn't seem to do anything for me, just gives me a white window. Am I missing some plugin or something?

Sage, if you're not too attached to that I'd love to have it on the PNF, with credits of course. Alternatively I could link it, but your server seems to be down every now and then.

Well, I remember being asked this about my planet database once before. I believe the major sticking point then was the fact that the host you guys were on didn't support Perl, which is what it was written in (much to my modern self's dismay and horror). So, I would have to port most of it to PHP to be useful here. That is no simple undertaking, and is the main reason I reel at the prospect.

Though, I guess you guys did get off GameSpy a while back, so maybe that restriction isn't an issue any more?

Of course, the Guide is a much simpler piece of code, so a port to PHP should not be as much of a uphill climb. I will have to wait to try this when I'm not about to pass out from >24 hours of consciousness though. :)

We're on a new host, I'll lask Chad if Perl works or not.

I suspect that was another MIME type issue. Try it now. No plugins are needed.

No, any browser except Internet Explorer should work. It should be perfectly compliant to all used web standards (XHTML, CSS, JavaScript). I'm personally using Opera.

Did you really? Piick IE? Or was it that just that it came with your PC and you've used it long enough that you know your way around its user interface and don't want to spend any time trying to use something new, and you haven't really spent much time on the alternatives so you don't realise just how inferior it is in every way that matters (speed, security, user control, standard support)?

Anyhow, I realise that a lot of people use IE (just because they don't know any better), so I've put in place a workaround. I think that it will work both with modern browsers and IE now.

As a completely OT tangent, a lot of people also use IE because they have no choice. A lot of company intranets (such as mine yay!) only work in IE 6 or so. And since you don't give employees admin rights they can't install anything else. So pretty much any site I go to from work nowadays will throw up a big flashing banner that tells me I'm using an outdated web-browser.

I had no reason to tell you this but I did anyway :)
