Idea: Star control addon for 3D simulator

There is a freeware space flight simulator at
www.orbitersim.com
It is fully modable.
I came to think that modelers and programmers from UQM team might like to make a Star Control mod for it.

If the sim is too realistic to be playable, then perhaps the Vega Strike engine could be of some use.
