If you are Norwegian then I am a happy man. I love Aquavit and I like Norwegians. Your country may be insanely expensive, but the people are nice and those mountains are seriously something.

Damn, this reminds me that I still owe Bleeding Star some pictures from my Norwegian vacation. I hope he doesn't read this.

I was in Oslo last thursday and friday and apart from the alcohol prices I didn't really find it insanely expensive, really. Might have something to do with the Euro-NOK conversion rates of past week, but I dunno?

Really? I was there 1½ years ago and the gasoline prices were insane compared even to Finland. The food and drinks were about the same level as in Finland, but Finland is expensive compared to most central European countries. Maybe things have changed? Or maybe you're just rich?

I didn't use a car while I was there, but the rest of the things (food etc) were just as cheap as in the netherlands.

According to statistics, Finland is the third most expensive country in Europe and Norway is more expensive. Are you sure the NOK didn't just trick you?

Also, according to this your foodstuffs are at around 78% to 105% of the EU27 average whereas Norways is at 158% - 229%. I dunno, maybe you live in a very fancy area back home?
