I'm not understanding the thrid panel. the others are logical, but is that one upside down or something? Or is he suddenly falling and then jumping again?
Round and round it goes, where it stops nobody knows

He seems to be diving at one of the Spathi and grabbing it off the wall. Presumably the ninja leap in panel 2 is mostly lateral.

And people wonder why the Spathi are afraid of everyone else. It's probably got a lot to do with "generous signing bonuses" like getting clocked in the eyestalk.

As always, looking forward to next week. :)

Yeah, the action isn't quite as clear as it could be.  Action sequences are hard.  He's leap in upwards and to the left in panel 2  By panel 3 he's arcing downward in a dive toward the Spathi.  In #4, he's swinging on the Spathi's neck, and then he's trying to pull the Spathi loose from the wall.

Looks like that Spathi trap failed  ;)
How is it that I can beat the Sa-Matra with one Fury, but I can't beat a Marauder with an Avatar?

It works now, so doesn't matter.  :)

The plan worked fine, for almost everyone: Hide and hope some other guy gets caught.

Oh yes, the plan worked for most of them, but that theoretical trap we were talking about before didn't happen.  Or at least not yet  ;)

I'm curious about this "generous signing bonus" as well.  With the X in the Spathi's eyes, it could be a sign that it could be dead, or is it?  :D

I'm pretty sure the idea was that he's unconscious.

Oy, I forget to come here for a month, and Luki's already back.  Yay!

His signing bonus was probably pain given to him by Dogar and Kazon.  He wouldn't kill him, since that would defeat the purpose of press ganging.

They could kill him just fine, there were clearly plenty of other Spathi there to press gang.   :D :o :-X

Based on the policies the Ilwrath said they have to "suffer" under in the Hierarchy, I don't think the Ur-Quan would be terribly happy about having their other slaves killed off. Especially slaves who are crewing one of their Starbases.

In The Brief Golden Moment - During The War With Your Alliance -
We Ilwrath Enjoyed Unequaled Merriment And Festivities.
So Much Blood And Lymph Fluid!
Then, After The Ur-Quan Made Your Kind Fallow Slaves,
We Were Forced To Use Species Indigenous To Our Planet For Amusement.

Quote from: Iwrath
We Honored The Wishes Of The Soft And Merciful Ur-Quan And Stopped Eating You Hu-Mans.

Simply Put, The Ur-Quan Are Far Too Kind To Please Dogar And Kazon.
When Your Species Was Subdued, Our Gods Made Clear Their Desire For Immediate Deaths By The Billion.
We Made Plans For A Grand Ceremony To Be Called `Mountains Of Flesh'.
We Built Thousands Of Portable Altars, And Transported Millions Of Blood Gowns And Fillet Knives To Your World.
But Then The Ur-Quan Commanded That You Hu-Mans Were To Be Left Alive! The Confusion!
With Our Plans For A Magnificent And Most Holy Planetary Slaughter Forcibly Terminated
We Retreated To Our Homeworld To Sulk.
