But i love Androsynth! They can't really be gone. What if they teleported to some wild new dimension?

Possible, since they were experimenting with IDF, but unlikely since what they found was the Orz.  And the Arilou are IDF beings as well and so might be able to tell if the Androsynth jumped dimensions.
How is it that I can beat the Sa-Matra with one Fury, but I can't beat a Marauder with an Avatar?

The Arilou couldn't trap the Nnngn, so they aren't really the know all end all experts on IDF travel. Afaik they can only travel in Quasispace and Hyperspace.
That, and the Orz behave exactly like you would expect a guardian to behave. The Androsynth might very well just have put them there to camouflage their disappearance from this dimension. They do a pretty darn well job in hiding from Zelnick the real reason that the Androsynth are no longer present.
What would you give to know the truth?

The Arilou do trap the Nngn though, they just let them go afterwards.  They are only in Hyperspace, Quasispace, and Truespace that we know of, but they could be other places as well.  Presumably either they can get to *heavy space* or the Orz can get to Quasispace, since the Arilou seem to have known the Orz for a while.  Your idea is quite intersting though...

And now Luki makes a thread about using Nngn as a source of energy...  ;D
And that's all I got to say about that.

Do you not think that makes sense?  That was my first idea about what they were for...

That'd require programmers and stuff.

I am sort of a programmer. I even have a blog on my endeavors.

I dunno, but Rpgmaker XP might be worth looking into. Never used it, but perhaps it can import custom tileset and use custom rulesets?

Don't forget Chmmr\Androsynth\Utwig...Best, races, EVER!

Creating and balancing races is an insane amount of work. We've1 done most of the Hierarchy, and that's taken around six months. Making those races playable is a higher priority than fitting all the new races in before actually doing anything with the game. And we are sticking with canon.

The current game is based off of the SC1 period, and the races presented reflect that. Mission 1 already contained rules for Humans, Shofixti, Arilou, and Syreen on the Alliance side, and Ilwrath, Androsynth, and Umgah on the Hierarchy side. Luki and I have since developed additional rules for the Chenjesu, Mmrnmhrm, Yehat, Mycon, Thraddash, and Spathi, and the Ur-Quan and VUX are coming soon.

And by "Luki and I", Draxas actually means that he has done most of the work and I've airyly emailed him a suggestion or two every now and then along the lines of "Wouldn't it be cool if..."

Is this gonna be downloadable?

This is a forum game, not a computer game. The rules, units and graphic system will be downloadable at some point. But you can't actually play it without someone running the game for you the way I've done on UQMF with mission 1.

Also, if you want to discuss whatever happened to the Androsynth, please make a thread about it and talk all you want. This thread is for the project and comments/suggestions/help with that. If in doubt, look at Riders post. If you want, I'll be happy to move the Orz posts to a new topic and let you continue.

I am sort of a programmer. I even have a blog on my endeavors.

Thanks for the offer. I'm currently not looking to change this into a computer thingy, but I'll keep it in mind for once balancing and stuff has been done.

If you decide to make it a computer game, I might be able to help as well, I've programmed some games, although as yet, I have never actually gotten around to finishing one.  :-\

Ah, come on, give yourself some credit. You finished the Androsynth, Ilwrath, and part of the Umgah before I even came on board.

That said, all 3 races have been reworked a bit since then, but hey.

So I need someone who can do some graphics related to BEL.  Dabir is overworked with what he has got on his plate already, but this stuff needs doing. If you're up for it let me know and I'll let you in on a pretty interesting secret. I can't say more in public, it isn't safe.

But seriously. If you have some time to spare and want to work on a SC project, let me know, okay? Otherwise, you'l be kicking yourself in a month or two.
