I always wondered about that. The Doog were shown as dimiwitted an pretty helpless. So how was it that their ships were pretty much unstoppable? It just seemed so out of touch with the story. But then again, there were a lot of people in the Kessari Quadrant with terribly unbalanced ships.

The Doog weren't supposed to be stupid, just fairly naive and motivated by simple things, so they were easily suckered by the Crux into voluntary slavery. They were also highly industrious, which is why their ships were unstoppable: you could just hold down the special key and their ships would regenerate crew at a ludicrously fast rate (as they presumably rebuilt the ship; nobody said it made a lot of sense) with little to no battery drain.

I dunno, I always thought they were just idiots.  Although it has been quite a while since I played so I can't remember for sure.
How is it that I can beat the Sa-Matra with one Fury, but I can't beat a Marauder with an Avatar?

There's a very fine line between being naive and stupid you know...  :D
And that's all I got to say about that.

True, but as I recall, they are on both sides of that line.
