"The Grand Council" is a pivotal thread here. It's actually the first part of a series of chapters (one per year), each moving farther and farther forward in time following the destruction of the Sa-Matra.
Anyone is free to contribute to whatever chapter of "The Grand Council" is running at the time, but please, familiarize yourself with the events which have happened in previous chapters and take care to post a good message. Everyone who posted in the original Grand Council thread (as well as the spinoff threads) did an awesome job, and I'd like to see that level of quality carry over into subsequent chapters.
Chapter 1 was "The Grand Council" (2003)
Chapter 2 (2005) is actually going to be presented after Chapter 3, but the events will take place between TGC and TGC: T&C. This will setup and explain events that take place in Chapter 3's timeframe.
Chapter 3 is "The Grand Council: Time and Consequences" (2004) and it takes place 350 years after "The Grand Council". Between chapters, this is the largest skipping of time, as it's probably going to be 250-300 years after chapter 2.
Chapter 4 (2006) will be released follwing the conclusion of Chapter 2, and will detail events after Chapter 3.
Other chapters will follow assuming interest is still high. While these chapters do have rough outlines so as to preserve consistancy, this is done via control of a few key races and/or people. The meat (90%) of the story is actually created by the rest of the players, and is able to influence the outcome and premise of chapters -- Chapter 2's premise changed entirely due to events in Chapter 1 that I had no control over, which is partially why I decided to run chapter 3 before 2.
"The Grand Council" and its sequals will sometimes involve time travel. Changes in the past will affect the future, and yes, I do know that current theory is that it wouldn't. Paradox will be avoided via roleplay. This is being done because some people would attempt to create paradox. Just remember that if you go back and kill your grandfather, you're going to learn that he wasn't your biological grandfather -- meaning grandma was a... frisky... lass in her day.
