Since we've had a fair influx of new people in the last month, I figure it might be best to make a sticky about this. I'm placing it in GD, since I assume that's the first place any new person will arrive at.
There is a slight bug in forum functionality. Sometimes, the "New" tag will not disappear from a thread once you've read it. After this happens a few times, the forum will begin hiding threads from you. The cure for this is to click the "Mark as Read" button, either in the subforum you are browsing or on the main forum page. This will remove all "New" tags and reveal any hidden threads.
This bug has been around for a very long time. Now that the forum has migrated away from Gamespy, we will hopefully be able to finally fix it. We're working with SMF experts to find a reason and cure, but so far it is slow going. For the time being, we ask you to have patience and remember to click the "Mark as Read" bug at the end of your session to prevent thread disappearance.
I'll keep you updated on any developments in this thread, feel free to post questions if you have an.

Just letting you know that some progress has been made and the issue hasn't been forgotten. You might not see it, but we're working hard on this. Possibly, something in the forum tables has been broken for a long time.

Crap... this just happened to me with the "Mods, clones..." subforum. I can see only a few threads. Tried the 'mark read' thing... problem is, it too doesn't work. When I try it, I get this: An Error Has Occurred!
Session verification failed. Please try logging out and back in again, and then try again. There's no way around it. Logging out and in doesn't solve anything. I hope this won't mean that this is permanent (or at least until it is fixed for good)... |

Have you tried boththe local buttons and the forum wide one?Have you tried clearing your cookies? Like Eth says, the solution is drawing nearer, though not everyone will love it.
