Hey Guys,

Just wanted to let you know that a Hierarchy and New Alliance factions are planned, with each race being represented by the original ship (trying to anyways!)

However, my personal favorite races, as well as more neutral races, will be flushed out with more ships, or if people submit different models that can be variants of ships, then those can become individual ships.  That is how the Arilou started.  I got the original Skiff from Scott Irving, then had a couple UFO type ships donated, then I made the "Mothership".  They started to take on an ID4 kind of approach, and they became a mixture of different classic UFO themes. 

I made all the Kohr-Ah ships based off the one original design, and then went from there.    I wanted to as true to the original theme as possible, mostly to impress SC fans.  I did not want to deviate too much from the original design, or else SC fans may not recognize the ship as being part of the race I was working on.  However, more designs are now coming into the mix, allowing for more variety among the races with multiple ships.

If any of you know the guys who made all that wonderful 3D fan art and movies, like ZenMurphy and Tsang, please have them contact me ASAP, as I would love to be able to use their stuff in this.

Thanks again guys for the support.  Means the world to me that this is impressing you.  Either I or Gihren will be posting more picks soon.

Hi again,

The Precursors are planned as a race.  Does anyone have any 2D art of them.  I need it for race pictures so people know what they look like.  I know it will be fan art if anything.  Also, do we want to go by SC3 and say that the Precursors are Bovine?  I don't mind that, I just want to get everyone's take on it.  We have a few ships planned, including the finished Sa-Matra Titan ship and Battle-platform.  The Vindicator and variants will also be included.

I will consider that, although I am hoping to be using them in a new SC game someday!

I realize that probably too much time has passed and you won't be doing what I suggest... but wouldn't it be better to make Alliance and Hierarchy into factions? That way you already have a lot of different ship designs for each, which has a good result - a lot of variety.

Of course, the neutral races (Kohr-Ah, Arilou...) would still require a fleet of their own. The neutral races would have several times the amount of differing ship designs when compared to each race composing the Hierarchy and the Alliance, so I'm not really sure this would be a good idea.

We suggested this when they started off doing the mod, but they went in a different direction. It means more ships for us, so I'm not complaining.

Like Dan said, we do have plans for a Hierarchy and an a Alliance faction.  Rather than building the canon ships first and then filling the lineup with new ships and branch off from there, we've built new ships for the factions we got to first and THEN we're incorporating the canon ships to the combined factions.

There weren't enough ships to fill the available ship roles to begin with, so by building some races like the Kzer-Za first, we'll have the filler ships already done.  Besides, it's easier to model one ship of a faction, see its characteristics, and then make ships with some similar design features immediately afterward.  It gives you some focus.  It's a different approach than was suggested, but the end result will be the same. 

After lining up the original ships for the Hierarchy and Alliance (and the New Hierarchy and Alliance), we'll be able to pick our best and favorite new designs to fill any open slots the game has left.  I'm betting we'll make some new designs that incorporate shared technology between the races of a faction, but that's a bit down the road. 

A nuke-carrying winged beetleship with the chance to respawn that can self-destruct into a million crystals while yelling insults...that'd be great.  Curiously, half of those items are from a single race...the Pkunk were so versatile.

Yeah, switching gears while moving forward at the same time.  My priorities are twofold.  Get at least every original ship I can represented.  And second flush out the neutrals and my favorites with more ships.  I am also making the planets SC style.  I already have a Radiated World and a Slave Shielded World.  Rainbows are coming, along with the gem worlds and metal worlds.  Hopefully I can get most of them in there.

Hey guys,

I fixed the fireball effect for the Sa-Matra, they are much bigger and noticable now.  They are bigger than some ships are!  Also, the green plasma now slows ships down, keeping them away from the Sa-Matra.

I also had the Sa-Matra engage the Empire from Star Wars (part of my mod), and you can see the size difference.  NOTHING stands in front of the Sa-Matra and lives!  Well, you be the judge from these photos:





Here is the Kzer-Za Warbird.  One of the faster ships in the galaxy:


And here are some pictures of my Orion / Atlantian race, though not from SC, in "MY" universe, these guys were buddies with the Precursors over a millon years ago.
The Orions have the gold ships, the Atlantians have the organic ships:

Wow could I get a copy of that warbird model? I love it!  ;D ;D   

Btw id still like to contribute more models but at the moment they are locked away on a hard drive that had it's read head turf and I haven't gotten gusty enough to transfer new heads from another drive i bought as a sacrificial lamb. Though I could make some new ones..

Thank you all very much for the kind words.  My team and I have been hard at work on these ships.  Gihren has been a big help.  The Sa-Matra is actually his model and texture.  I made all the weapon and glowing effects such as the engines and hard pointing it for all the effects.  I made all the Kohr-Ah models myself, and helped make all the Kzer-Za ships as well.  So thank you!

Scott, no problem man.  You have been a big help with this, giving me the Skiff and the Chmmr Avatar.  BTW, I could use the Avatar again, as I lost it in a hard drive crash.  ANY models you can make would be welcome.  I am looking for a Star Base model that the Kzer-Za can deploy to envelop a planet in a slave shield.  This will have the ability to defend itself, as well as keep the planet from either being colonized or being attacked.  A tactic the Kzer-Za can emply is just traveling the galaxy, and slave shielding worlds to prevent them from being colonize, sucking up all the real estate in a galaxy.  Also, any other "cannon" SC ships would be welcome, as I would like to at least have every SC ship in, and then expand from there.

Eth, YES, I sent you one back I thought.  I would love to have the Cruiser, as we need that for the human faction.  I can texture it myself, so no worries there.  Or someone on my team can do it too if I don't have time.

Oh, and by the way, any way I can be more than the "hunam" rank?  Just curious.  Thanks guys, more to follow soon!

Also, some of your work is going in too, so hopefully you will be able to hear it soon.  Not this Alpha release coming out today, but perhaps the next one.
