Perhaps my belligerent style in the beginning obscured this, or perhaps this place simply isn't used to games in the CYOA format. I'll attempt to clear this up, as politely as I can. When I say that you are voices inside the main characters head, this is simply a metaphor. You are not characters in a story. You can't actually develop your character, because you don't have one. You're forum posters, posting your opinion on what the unnamed adventurer should do next. At no stage will one of you magically become real, be given a body, fall in love or fight aliens. Your job is simply to let me know what you think we should do next.
If you want to do this with some flair, that's fine. I'll happily decipher what you want us to do from your posts, as long as it is somewhat explicitly stated. If you want to discuss what to do next with the other "voices" that's fine, since every decision is a vote you should weigh your options. This becomes essential later on when the story really branches out into different directions and choices become more open-ended. But if you start playing characters and chit chatting about nonsense, you're simply going to clutter up the thread and make the actual adventure harder to read.
I don't know if you ever read CYOA adventure books when you were a kid. If you did, this is exactly like that, only more advanced. When I get home today I'll link you to a couple fo great CYOA threads on other boards, even though they'll make my thread look quite pathetic. Perhaps observing how people post in them will give you a better idea of how these things work.
