For those of you who didn't get it, this was a gimmick OOC. I was being wilfully abusive and counting on you to bring me back down with equally hilarious and overbearing posts. That didn't happen though, either because I didn't do it very well or because you didn't understand it.
Or because Sedodes refuses to leave Off Topic and Shiver has abandoned us. Biting comments can get wearing anyway.

Say hi to the pumpkin.

Moderators edit: Moving this to the OOC, because while it is funny it seems to have nothing to do with the adventure.

Hey Alana! I'm glad someone enjoyed it, the local philistines here have no taste whatsoever. It's like being the sole proprietor of fine silverware in an ancient and unappealing pigsty.

Anyway, just some notes on updating schedules. Ill probably do an update approximately once a day or so, and warn you in case I take a break for more than three or four days.

Also, a lot of people are still pretending to be the actual hero rather than suggesting what to do. That's fine, as long as you remember that you're just one of many insignificant voices buzzing around inside a head steered by a greater purpose (me). i'm just going to ignore most of what you write and look for suggestions on what you want to actually be done.

And a female trapped inside a male body it is then, three votes and all.

Anyway! Pre-op MtF makes me smile. <3 *likes that this was even suggested* Why'd you go for that, Eth? :3
It's a reference to Neil Gaiman's Sandman graphic novel.  For some reason there were a lot of pre-operative transsexuals in that comic.

EDIT:  It's worth mentioning that my intention was for the character to have gone through the hormone treatments, just not the surgery.  So breasts and other female features would exist, just there would be, you know, "nadgy bits" (as we SCers like to call 'em).

Trying to subtly encourage us to verbally beat you down? Well I was tempted to take that bait and act in the way you described, but laziness and/or limited attention span prevented that possibility.

I post however I damn well please anyhow, so if I had been properly motivated I might have asked a question that wasn't directed at you, and then unleashed unholy oratory pwnage when you released your obligatory volley of insults.

Oh well. That'll teach me for letting whatever-it-was get the better of me.

I really only recall Wanda from "A Game of You" fitting that profile. Maybe my memory is shoddy, or they simply didn't highlight the others as much?

Hmm. Like Sage, I can think of Wanda, and I suppose Desire fits in his/her own changeable way at times, but I'm failing to remember anyone else.

Still, anything Sandman-inspired is good with me~ <3

On a mostly off-topic note, by "breasts" do you mean the a-cup things we could get with hormones alone, or did we have breast enhancement once the hormones have provided enough tissue for the implants? Or do we stuff our bra to feel more comfortable with ourselves?

The Connoisseur was a serial killer specializing in pre-operative transsexuals; he was at the "Cereal Convention."

Gosh, I dunno.  All the transsexuals here at work went in the other direction.  However, I assume that we didn't dress ourself, so how about option #1.

Incidently, "nadgy bits" isn't from Star Control after all.  It's from Warhammer 40,000.  Oops.  I must have been got "nadgy bits" mixed up with "whithered reproductive organs."

Ah, I completely don't remember him. The guy with the "leather" ties and the Big Bad Pedo and, of course, the Corinthian are what I remember from that bit~ *blames not having read some of the early Sandman volumes for a few years*

ETA: And #1 works! <3

Hehe, I think you guys are putting a bit too much thought into this. You specified female in a males body so that's what I went with. I think if we had breasts we'd have realised it by the last update, so you'll all just have to do without. Maybe we can find some hormones or something later on. Or maybe someone will offer us the chance to become what we always wanted in exchange for all that we hold dear? Only time will tell.

Edit:
Oh jeeze.  What's that on the floor?  I hope it's not a body!

Do you also want to suggest an action Eth? Or do you just want to stand around being shocked? Search the body, skip the room ,whatever?

Hey guys, a few pointers for you. Since I'm slightly more advanced than the original Zork, you don't have to restrict your orders to the next 10 seconds. Obviously there's no point in posting too long instructions, but you don't have to post "Go back to the Hallway" and wait until I do so before posting "Try to open large door". I just read through the posts present and then try as follow the general consensus as far as I can.

I thought that an action ("examine the form on the floor") was implied.

Yeah, but I'd rather have explicit actions rather than implied ones. Otherwise we end up with boobless transexuals. I'm much more likely to miss your implied meaning which means your vote/idea goes to waste.

Also, I moved Sage's last post. You're free to discuss in the adventure thread, but try to keep it on topic. I don't want the adventure to get cluttered up with loads of random conversations that have no relevance. If you go completely off Topic, I'll move it to this thread. This isn't the Off Topic forum ;)

All in all I couldn't have asked for a bunch of crazier and more homicidal voices. It'll be interesting to see how long our character survives once/if actual threats start appearing.

Nothing to do with the adventure? I'm developing my character!

Perhaps my belligerent style in the beginning obscured this, or perhaps this place simply isn't used to games in the CYOA format. I'll attempt to clear this up, as politely as I can. When I say that you are voices inside the main characters head, this is simply a metaphor. You are not characters in a story. You can't actually develop your character, because you don't have one. You're forum posters, posting your opinion on what the unnamed adventurer should do next.  At no stage will one of you magically become real, be given a body, fall in love or fight aliens. Your job is simply to let me know what you think we should do next.

If you want to do this with some flair, that's fine. I'll happily decipher what you want us to do from your posts, as long as it is somewhat explicitly stated. If you want to discuss what to do next with the other "voices" that's fine, since every decision is a vote you should weigh your options. This becomes essential later on when the story really branches out into different directions and choices become more open-ended. But if you start playing characters and chit chatting about nonsense, you're simply going to clutter up the thread and make the actual adventure harder to read.

I don't know if you ever read CYOA adventure books when you were a kid. If you did, this is exactly like that, only more advanced. When I get home today I'll link you to a couple fo great CYOA threads on other boards, even though they'll make my thread look quite pathetic. Perhaps observing how people post in them will give you a better idea of how these things work.
