Everyone doesn't die when they Mayan calendar rolls over; it's happened a few times already.

I know but 2012 is a dangerous year. There will be an ecliptic and Galactic Alignment.

I'm watching you. I always do. I know your every step. Awake or asleep. I look into your dreams. I see all your emotions, your love, your sorrow, everything around you. I feel your pain and endure it. I can cast the magic of the worlds and destroy everything you see.
This is a burden, and a gift.

This isn't a bad idea, but attendance is likely to disappoint. Activity across SC2's various pockets is not what it used to be when UQM was released. I'm a rather obsessed fan but I'm not paying for an air trip to California over this unless I happen to trip over a suitcase full of Benjamin Franklins over the next year or two. That likely goes double for anyone living outside the US. I suggest you hold two Ur-Quanventions; one as a test run to see how many people within a reasonable distance show up, then the second only if the first has a good turn-out.

I vote PS2 controllers as they have the neat 'individual button' approach instead of those dreadful d-pads.

SC2 is a lot more difficult with a controller than a keyboard. Precision goes right out the window.

How about arranging something at a bigger con, like PAX?
I think more people would attend that way, it would be less work, there'd be other things to do, and maybe find some new Star Control fans?

I'm sure Scott is just dreaming whistfully about this, and who am I to deny him that. But lets pretend for a moment that it is a serious topic.

How many franchises get there very own conventions? Star Wars, Star Trek...basically the multi-biollion dollar operations. Everything else just piggy backs on the generaic sci-fi, pop culture conventions. Other wise four people wll show up. FOUR.

If its part of a bigger convention then SC gets exposure to lots of other folks who will swing by the booth and check it out.
