Continuing with my "Research the hell out of this one combo" thing, I would direct your attention to Aurochs and its upgraded counterpart, Aurochs Herd, paying special attention to the Herd. Also Baku Altar, another of those handy token generators. Possibly one of the less useful ones for Slivers but still a powerful card on its own, Baron Sengir. If you really feel like overdoing it with the whole tokens thing, feel free to attempt to abuse the effect of Baru, Fist of Krosa. If you want a card that's easy to power up, Battlewand Oak may be something to look at. Sick of small fieldswarms mass-blocking you? How about Berserk Murlodont?

That's page 4 of 57 cards that feature the word 'Whenever', organised alphabetically. So yeah, there's probably a lot more.

You should just feel fortunate that Wizards has not gone completely crazy yet. Sure, they made Progenitus, but they haven't printed a Darksteel Sliver. Luckily, I suspect that Timber Protector is the closest a card will ever get to that concept.

It's only a matter of time before they print new slivers.  What if they did Protection slivers, or landwalk slivers?  The mind reels.

Oh they certainly have other places they can go. That is kind of the point of my evolutionary experiments.

Ward Sliver already does this.

or landwalk slivers?

Creatures such as Lord of Atlantis and Eladamri, Lord of Leaves can be modified to fill this role nicely.

And this is why I play slivers. >:D

Slivers. Elegant design, what can you say? The Zendikar "ally" mechanic certainly has something sliver-ish going on..

The Slivers deck list has been announced. Some of the card choices seem sub-optimal to me, but I like the Sliver Overlord + Amoeboid Changeling combo, and Wild Pair looks interesting. There seems to be a pretty good spread of mana without requiring 4 Gemhide Slivers, but there are still cases where you must fret over mana. I would definitely have done away with the Armor and Barbed Slivers, since this deck already has two Spectral Slivers (which do the same job as both, but in a much more cost-efficient manner).

Overall this deck seems to have a lot in common with the mentality of my "Extra Crispy" deck, with perhaps a slightly smoother mana curve. Now that I have this list I shall have to play test it in Apprentice a bit.

I have looked at Allies and do like some of the things they are doing here. I'm not so interested in the "gain ability until end of turn" ones, but Kazuul Warlord, Murasa Pyromancer, Hagra Diabolist and Ondu Cleric look like excellent Slivers to me. Ally abilities also have the bonus of being restricted to only those under your control, so its effects cannot bleed over into an enemy's stuff, good or ill.

I have been playing with some ideas regarding the Panoptic Mirror, and now more than ever I want a set of them to exploit the full potential. Fortunately all I need is to imprint Walk the Aeons for an infinite progression of free turns! But looking at cards like Damnation or Wrath of God I see very powerful controlling properties. All I'd need is an army of indestructible creatures to march in and do the clobbering.

I just got back from a massive trading session with my friend.  Managed to snag a Grim Tutor, among a bunch of other cards.  In the realm of Bad News, I no longer have a prayer of making a vampire deck, as I had to trade almost all of my good vampires to him.  Oh well.

Sage, I hear Mutavaults are dropping in price nowadays. You might wanna consider snatching some of those. Because, yknow. Sliverland.

Yeah, I noticed that Mutavaults were dropping in price, now that Morningtide has rotated out of Standard.  I opened one in a draft, but I may buy one or two more soon for the Counterslivers deck I'm building.

Mutavault looks okay, but I kind of like turning all of my lands into 2/2 first striking Slivers using Natural Emergence and Hivestone. With the addition of an unmodified Timber Protector, this at least makes my forests indestructible. After modification, all of my slivers (except that Timber Protector) would be indestructible.

That's too complicated for my deck.  Natural Emergence is too expensive, too.  I'm trying to make something a bit faster.  All of my slivers will be two-drops, for better interaction with Aether Vial.
