Out of curiosity...

...What would have happened if you had Wimbli's Trident and went to Groombridge? Assuming the game was finished as the Creators wanted it to be.

You would be magically transported into the SC universe, given control over the Precursor ship, and lived happily ever after. Well, until someone pulled the plug on the computer anyway....

It's something that was never put into the game due to time limits, but that was planned by the Creators. Basically, the rainbow planets for an arow. This arrow points at grrombridge, where you were supposed to be able to have a chat with the Creators of the game. More info about this can be found in the chat log on PONAF adn on Yukkis site you can find the GFX for it. Can't remmeber the adress, but it's ob the PONAF site as well...

As for the trident, I vaguely recall something about Wimbli being the nickname of someone associated with the project. Why anything special should happen if you carried it, I don't know.

Got a link (or description) to the GFX/Chat log... and elaborate about the "controlling races" thing, or is this only for SC3?

Wimbli is Fred's nick.

Maybe you'd wind up with an entire starbase of sex-starved Syreen after you bring the trident back to Groombridge. :)

Joris, close your eyes, you're too young to read this.

What's with the "cloaking device"? Another thing that didn't made it to the final version? And can someone PLEASE give me a link to the text log and/or Yukki's page?

Well... http://www.classicgaming.com/starcontrol/history/files/scchatlog.txt and http://home.att.ne.jp/wave/rainbow/Toys_for_Bob/ ... Although they are both on the PNF site as links... And no, there is no cloaking device, it never made the final version.

Dunno if it'd work in hyperspace though, I mean you can still see Ilwrath ships there, and what you see is a gravity well, which would be generated no matter if the ship is visible or not in truespace...

(see screenshot of SC2 before it was done, where there is "cloaked" in the inventory bar) then I don't see what use it would have being cloaked in Hyperspace as TFB intended...
