3rd Matrix Theories
« on: May 22, 2003, 12:27:17 pm »
I just saw The Matrix: Reloaded tonight and was no more impressed than I was with the first one.  It was a better movie, granted, but waaaaaay too much slow motion we're-trying-to-capitalize-on-a-played-out-thing-we-created feel.

now, for the general spoiler warning:

This thread is about theories for the 3rd Matrix movie.  Spoliers for Reloaded (and for those in the Dark Ages, the original Matrix) will most likely be in this thread.  As will possible spoilers for the third movie.  If you don't like it, don't read any more.  This thread is about theories on the third movie, not reviews about the first/second (aside from what I wrote above to into this).

They're going for the whole "dream inside a dream" effect.  That's how Neo was able to stop the squids at the end of Reloaded.  He's in a stable coma now because he's out of the "outer matrix", or the matrix ENTIRELY.

Neo is in the REALLY real world now.

Proof, you ask?  I point out that when they were hurt in the "inner matrix" they'd cough up blood in the "outer matrix".  Entirely impossible otherwise you'd cough up blood in your sleep when you were getting beat down.

Also, the earth's core produces more BTUs than a million times the population of earth, so if the machines ran on thermal energy they would just go that route.

One man changed the world!

Actually that is exactly what I was thinking when I saw Neo stop the squidis. I don't know how I feel about that. But I don't know if I buy that now. Thats what I was thinking as I exited the theater, but that would just piss me off. I mean even Men In Black II (Horrible horrible movie) touched on the World inside a World inside a third Real World. It's a dim concept. If the real world outside the so called "real world" is for protection, it just doesn't make sense. If they wanted a third line of defense, they wouldn't be dumb enough to do the same exact thing. It's just ridiculous to me.
'Tis better to keep your mouth shut and appear a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.

I think it is brilliant.  Those who do not accept the first world are given exactly what they expect in the second, and so they accept that program without hesitation!
Oh God, please don't let me die today... tomorrow would be SO much better...
