So here's the deal -- all (or a good deal of) the ideas I had for a software-driven GYAP system are all worked out in my two 80 page spiral bound notebooks and are ready to be implemented. For those who don't know my plans, essentially there's more stuff to spend points on.
There's "equipment" that'll augment your GYAP capacities (cheaper whammies, automatic bonuses to rewards, whammy prevention, etc.). Some of this stuff is pretty hardcore... like the "sniper rifle" that'll completely wipe out someone's points anonymously (unless they have certain whammy-prevention gear). There's also annoying things like the "kick me" sign that you slap on someone else and they lose points every time someone decides to "kick" them. All kinds of toys, roughly 110 in all.
There's "levels" -- which, admittedly, without restricting board functions are much less useful -- but can still be used to good effect. More powerful "equipment" can only be purchased if you've "bought up" to a certain level. Levels will also carry with them innate bonuses, such as better GYAP to $$ exchange rates and "resistance" to whammies from lower level characters (only take a certain % of whammy penalty) to name only a couple.
Let me know what you think... there are obviously significant consequences and efforts involved in implementing this idea. The simplicity of the current system may be just fine for the small population of this board. Oh yeah, YOUR CURRENT POINTS WOULD BE TRANSLATED INTO THE NEW SYSTEM! "Levels" would be automatically assigned to people who could afford them since there's such a large gap in the current point spread.
