Oh, isn't it practically a guarantee then? All it takes is one hobo in an enclosed space like that.

First snow of the winter on a few spruce and oak trees. Nice looking, but the power company was reporting ~5,000 customers without power in my general area this morning. And this was a relatively small storm.

In the same snowstorm last winter that produced my last picture, I had a sassafras tree blown down by the wind, broken some 10 feet or so off the ground. I decided to leave the top portion, which landed on a large oak stump (that's a different story) attached to see what would happen. Amazingly enough, it has survived to make a nice fall colors display:

Yes, probably they have no hotlink allowed. The only thing I can think of is downloading it an storing it elsewhere... Don't know how legal that would be.

So I've been a little distracted lately...

I got myself a pair of puppies. So I present for your viewing pleasure: Puppy stuck in a gate.
Image
It's terrible cruelty to puppies but I feel that if he worked his way in then he can work his way back out. Instead of rescuing him I went and got a camera - and kinda hoped he wouldn't work himself out too fast. He didn't, he just stood there and looked sad.

Eventually I felt sorry for him and wrangled him out. Which was huge fun and a whole lot of attention.

And lead to him promptly getting stuck back under the gate.
Image
Look at that, just waiting to be rescued. So much happiness in anticipation of attention.

Which he didn't get. You can see the realisation dawning that he will have to solve this himself.
Image
Happiness is gone :(

He did work it out though (the gap is bigger than it looks in the pictures). He just had to walk out backwards.

Silly puppy.
