Favourite SC race lines.

Post by ngnikolaos » Mon Mar 29, 2010 4:38 pm

One per species. Here are mine.

Thraddash: Some people just cannot accept the cost of progress.

Ilwrath: It's been so long since I've seen a human DIE!

Spathi Ruler: (answering Zelnick's query of possible reward if he finds the correct password) You get to live a little longer. (Note: If you haven't find fwiffo, ergo, do not know the password, the Spathi council take the above question as the correct answer, instead of Huffi-Muffi-Guffi)

Ur-Quan Kzer-za: WHAT DID YOU SAY!?!? COMPULSION!??!?!

Ur-Quan Kohr-Ah: I grow tired of talking alien, and your time grows short.

Druuge: LIAR!

Utwig: All I know is that the Kohr-Ah live to kill.

Spathi captain: (Fluffi you idiot! I told you that wouldn't work!!)

Yehat: Whatever shall we do? It's just isn't right to kill ye human, but a-as a loyal member of mah clan, I must obey the wishes of our queen!

VUX: Greetings, and may your instincts of self-preservation ever be so dim.

Zoq-Fot-Pik: (Zoq to Pik, at the Credits) This game had nothing to do with Frungie ...

Umgah: Har har har! We're pretty crazy blobbies, aren't we?

Dnyarii: Oh, gosh, gee I don't know, let's just sit here and talk for a while ... AND IGNORE THOSE THOUSAND DREADNOUGHTS THAT ARE GOING TO CREAM US IN A FEW SECONDS!!

Chmmr: IF THE DEVIL HAD A RACE, IT WOULD BE A DNYARI ...

Melnorme: Captain, if those measures seem unjust to you, or even, extreme ... you must understand that the Ur-Quan have been unwilling slaves for milennia ...

Those are some I could think of.
Hmph! Some people just can't accept the cost of progress!

Utwig: When one loses reason for exsistance, one tends to get less motivated. (Thats a good one)

Uh, that was rhetorical.

Also, I really like what Fwiffo says about his ideal home, with the trees and the throwing stones in baskets and all that. It's a little long to put up here, I think.

Favorite line was probably the part where the Umgah turn you from the great hero into the great enemy. Destructive randomness for the sake of destructive randomness is awesome.
I was here.

Loved the Umgah's arm thief joke, really emphasises what they're about: Bad humour and engineering their own limbs off.

Ooh yeah, that's a goodie. From the Kohr-Ah, I'm also fond of their response when you have the Dynarri on board:
The Kohr-Ah say:
We sense... something... something ancient... a sickly smell... a chilling wind. My ancestors scream from within their chambers in my mind but I cannot understand their words. This feeling... a memory? It sickens us, and for the first time in our lives, for the first time in generations. We fear.
The fact that there was something nasty enough to make them afraid was pretty damn awesome/scary.

For the Druuge, I'm fond of the "Die, Child, Die" speech when you try to take the bomb from them. Also, the contract with god and the various responses when exchanging an artefact for fuel. I'll see if I can dig up the actual quotes later.

I like a lot of the Spathi dialogue, in particular:
The Spathi High Council say:
If you held a weapon to Fwiffo's head, he would say anything you wanted him to say.
In fact, if you held a vegetable to his head he would probably say anything you wanted him to say.
