No, I can't say I have. Perhaps next time you're bored go out and do something?
Re: Talking to yourself
Fully general writing advice, for anyone any time, even the masters:
Try writing a story.
Don't show it to anyone, it's going to be terrible.
Your job is to figure out why it's terrible, and how you can avoid that.
Read something good by someone else.
Repeat steps 1-4 until the second statement is no longer true. Then keep doing it, but drop step 2.

Reminded me of this quote in this comic :Death 999 wrote:Fully general writing advice, for anyone any time, even the masters:

Nice comic, thanks for sharing, Angelfish! I think I've finally reached the point in my drawing hobby where I know I have skill and even if I don't love it yet, I should keep going. I spent a LOOOOONG time though in the "this isn't good enough I'm gonna quit and maybe I'll try again in a few months" stage.
As for writing to myself... if I was a writer I might do that, but I'm not a writer. But as a musician, I write a lot of quick ditties for myself that no one will probably ever hear, and as an artist I draw a lot of quickie doodles that I never end up sharing.
