According to SC fluff, the Small War took place in 2015 as a nuclear exchange between a number of middle eastern nations, but the more I read recent headlines the more I think StarControl might have been off by a few years and a few thousand miles, but not wrong about the event. Chirst, I thought humanity had decided somewhere between 1945 and 1991 NOT to collectively nuke ourselves. Sadly I don't think any kind of nuclear exchange on the Korean peninsula, small or not, will lead to an overhaul of the UN, worldwide disarmament, peace vaults or any of the good stuff, just a whole mess of death and destruction. Still as an SC fan, I can't help thinking that some version of the Small War might be upon us soon. Here is hoping not though,

Thoughts?

Well, I just hope the 'Small War' stays small.
That and if we start making Androsynths, I'd prefer if we didn't rob them of their human rights this time around...

Yeah, I want them to share the secret of interstellar travel with us...

But me too, in the early 20tens I feared the small war of 2015 might come.
But the danger still has not passed.

I hope this INet upgrowing generation will be in favour of a globalisaion of government (having grown up with an environment that is a largely unregulated cross-border community).
The national governments cannot keep up and are limited in their fight against tax evasion and other unfair practices of globalised corporations.
Now it's time to globalise certain elements of government.

But if Europe can't even reform the EU they have...

I think most everybody knows my theory on how to explain how the Small War might still occur exactly as it states.

Considering recent events in Syria, at least, maybe the location might be spot on after all. Not that Korea or even the South China Sea aren't equally likely hotspots for something like this to happen.

As for learning lessons from the past, if there is one thing humanity is good at, it is in thinking a problem is solved or not worth worrying about right up until it's too late and people start dying. Here's hoping we as a species can restrain ourselves this time around.

Shhh! Better not let Trump know there's a risk that the war he's about to start (wherever it is) might ever be called "Small".

I doubt Trump has any effect on anything. However, leaked CIA documents forecast a nuclear war in the Middle East.
