The original miniseries is much better than the new movie, although I have not read the book, so I can't compare to that.

Re: Star Control 1+2 plot holes

There is also the possibility that the large number of ships guarding the Sa-Matra that the Dnyarri misdirected were sent off to fight other Ur-Quan ships.

But the Shu-Seng can't commit suicide.
Any short range ship has a potential for suicide tactics, even if it doesn't have an explode button.

Re: Star Control 1+2 plot holes

1) Thraddash - The Thraddash were told to "guard the flank" by the Ur-Quan because they weren't strong enough to hold their own in the Great War. So why didn't the Ur-Quan uplift their technology, like they did with the Ilwrath, a far more evil and unstable race than the Thraddash? I think the Thra...

Re: Games other than Star Control

We just started another multiplayer Civ IV game, this time we're using the "Earth 18" map, a realistic map where the civilizations all start in their historically-correct locations (or at least, the locations of their capital cities). I am playing Rome again, and place to attack my tightly-packed n...

Re: Got some new stuff. Please let me know what you think.

More food for thought. Are the Spathi, ZFP and so forth really going to be that enthusiastic about going off to fight an enemy abroad when they face the same threat at home? I'm not sure it would be that implausible for the ZFP to follow the Hunams and the League into war after saving their race fro...

Re: Got some new stuff. Please let me know what you think.

Oh, and what do you mean about the Xchagger? As I recall, you find a single Xchagger ship off in the middle of nowhere with a single crew, because the Crux destroyed most of their race, then you revive the race similar to the Shofixti in SC2 by finding the lost tribes or something of that nature. W...

Re: Random Discussions Megathread Dump

Also, Stargate Universe has just launched here in Sweden. doesn't seem all that great so far. But then, Stargate without MacGuyver is never as good as Stargate with MacGuyver. I absolutely LOVED Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis was at least mildly interesting. I'm afraid to watch this show though... I fe...
