Re: Sequels strife

There's no grounds for a suit anyway. Domain names are first come, first served, which is why domain squatting is so popular. Bigger companies have tried and failed.

Re: About to try to beat Star Control 2...no spoilers!

Uh… so yeah, we also learned they will fight to the death to try to get their sun thingy back, but wouldn’t the destruction of our ship also destroy their prized (non-)possession? Many Precursor artifacts are known for being extremely resilient, which is why they have survived all these millennia i...

Re: About to try to beat Star Control 2...no spoilers!

Huh, that's odd. All of my testing from years ago showed that the left edge was rebel space and the right was royalist. Maybe that was reversed for the 3DO version, maybe my memory sucks, either way I apologize for steering you wrong.

Re: Sequels strife

Of course. Words belied by actions is par for the course at this point. That sounded to me, at least, like an eminently reasonable compromise, so of course it was rejected. That, I'm guessing, was never the planned endgame here despite Brad's repeated insistences to the contrary. Small wonder he bai...

Re: Origins Melee Beta

Some friends, sheesh. I have a very small social media presence, and like it that way. Some of my friends may not like that, but not enough to stop talking to me. And back in January, this whole legal situation was a lot more nebulous and grey than it is now. I think a lot of us wanted to be optimis...

Re: Sequels strife

The sad reality of legal battles is that Stardock, with all the resources of a corporation, are easily going to outlast Fred and Paul if they decide to drag this out. The more cheap tricks they play, the more effective this tactic becomes, because lawyers are expensive and wading through more bullsh...

Re: What's the best way to play SC1? Or, sound fix for GOG v

Command line parameters would come immediately after starcon.exe, separated by a space on the same line. For example, from Krulle's description:

starcon.exe /S:adlib

That should instruct the game to start using the adlib sound settings.

Hope this helps you get it working better.

Re: About to try to beat Star Control 2...no spoilers!

Just so you know, the split spheres each have their own alignment, rebels or loyalists. Since they overlap pretty closely, this usually means a pretty mixed bag across most of Yehat space (you unlucky duck, you, only finding loyalists so far). However, the edges on either side are composed of only o...

Re: About to try to beat Star Control 2...no spoilers!

But good of you to not sit around. Wouldn't help you, and the original game also doesn't want players to sit out single storylines, but juggle the events. This, as always, is very true. It's also fair to say that some things (like, say, the overthrow of a regime that has been in power for millennia...
