Re: Sexes, reproduction and Star Control!

But as always with near translations, it might be something completely different as well. I always envisioned the Arilou's viewing "time" much like we view "space", just another coordinate to move around on, though with similar restrictions to the three others depending on the situational context. ...

Re: Which is your favourite SC race?

I find the Spathi, VUX (that whole apologizing over and over routine) and especially the Thraddash the funniest. The Ilwrath can be pretty amusing too, like how you can screw around with them, asking if they aren't actually good by their own standards, and making them say silly things with the caste...

Re: The Chmmr Avatar and its design...

A discussion in another topic made me wonder about the following. Robots don't need an athmosphere. Crystalline creatures don't need an athmosphere. Sapphire worlds don't have an athmosphere. The mother ark, I think, doesn't have an athmosphere. The Chmmr don't need an athmosphere. Then why does th...

Re: Do you know the ancestor of all Starcon games ?

…if StarFlight had never existed there'd probably be either no Star Control 2, or a Star Control that'd be so completely different it might as well be another game entirely. or all of the stuff that was in Starflight would have been used in SC2 first because Starflight didn't exist. Same people, as...

Re: Wild Ur-quan speculation

Ialways looked like. (Actually they look more like some sort of worm-squid thing then a caterpillar to me anyway.) There's a picture floating around somewhere in here of the terrestrial caterpillar that supposedly inspired the Ur-Quan. Oh I know about those actually. There's a handful of carnivorou...

Re: Sexes, reproduction and Star Control!

Anyway Arilou and Syreen aside... This is my two cents on SC2 races reproduction. The following species are known from SC2 dialogue or other SC canon to have males and females. Shofixti, Spathi, Syreen, Ur-Quan (and that'd cover both Ur-Quan species), Yehat, Pkunk, Druuge and Utwig. Possibly Slyland...

Re: Sexes, reproduction and Star Control!

I don't think they meant *times* as actual times. I believe they were referring to different dimensions or planes of existance. I disagree, they mention *(easy) places* and *time* as two different things. I think they mean both dimensional travel AND time travel. The Arilou being timetravelling dis...

Re: Do you know the ancestor of all Starcon games ?

I think people who haven't played SF1 and SF2 or only one of them would be ASTOUNDED by how much SC2 more or less cribbed from StarFlight. (Which is okay actually, lots of the same people working on it. (However if that HADN'T been the case it actually might have meant SC2 was a ripoff!) As it is, i...

Re: Your Opinion of the Androsynth

My opinion on the Androsynth. First of all, I find it a little irking that they are called Android Synthetics, when they are meant to be CLONES. So I was thinking, how do I resolve this? Well the way I do is that their brain is the only cloned part, and it's a human brain engineered to it's maximum ...
