Re: Star Control 2 Races after Star Control 2, Redux.

I think you are misinterpreting Shofixti culture in terms of what was in place before vs. what was taught to them by the Yehat. Even before their uplifting, the Shofixti had a culture analagous to feudal Japan, which seems to indicate that warfare, individual and clan honor, and suicide both in com...

Star Control 2 Races after Star Control 2, Redux.

Seeing how my previous thread was a bit rambly, I thought maybe I'd do a quick synopsis and be more thorough. Ur-Quan Kohr-Ah Extremely likely to stick to their guns. The Kohr-Ah have been defeated before, the Kohr-Ah never owned the Sa-Matra. The Kohr-Ah have faced stiff opposition before and been ...

Re: A thought on the slaveshield.

Headcanon? Are you Gunther Hermann who finally got his skull-gun? That'd be a headCANNON, whatever a Gunther Hermann is. CANON, as in canonical, part of accepted lore. As in SC2 is Canon, anything else written, made or said by Ford and Reiche (SC1, manuals, quotes etc.) is canon provided it doesn't...

Re: Latest Shot of Pluto

It's like a "Where's Waldo?" crossover, so instead it's "Where's Fwiffo?" See also, New Horizons thread in GD. Fwiffo isn't there yet. His ancestors are still encrustlings right now. But *time* is not many but several. If you where not a *slow time walker*, then *THERE* he is, that is to much fun a...

Re: Which SC3 species do you consider Canon?

None of them are canon. Unless it's created by Ford and Reiche themselves it can never be canon. But some SC3 races where funny. The K'tang where pretty damn hilarious, the bipolar Vyro-Ingo where good for a laugh. The Dak's quasi computer-like way of talking was memorable. The Doogs Forrest Gump/Du...

Re: Talking like races

Ever since our most glorious and unholy jihad against the vile yet delicious Thraddash beasts, there have not been very many of us Dill-rats left! And whilst dwe are certain the accursed ones who died during this most profane mission of unholy warship have proudly been send into the slavering acid-d...

Re: So what WOULD happen to each alien race after SC2?

And you'd be completely wrong in your disagreement, as per the Mycon's own statement. The Ur-Quan where unvoidable Non, so they joined them until they could find the weakness that allowed them to void the non. They said so themselves. Where exactly did they say that? As I quoted in my initial post;...

What the Kzer-Za might do after being defeated.

I still am having fun talking about various Star Control things. And this one I think can be fairly quickly explained. The Kzer-Za (Along with the VUX) are amongst the Star Control species one of the most likely for fans to put in the proverbial 'leather pants'. They might be quite haughty and imper...

Re: A thought on the slaveshield.

That is a very good point. Maybe though it could absorb only a portion of sunlight and also absorb planetary heat as an additional powersource? I do like the multilayer explanation though! But I wonder what the powersource of the machine inside would be. As for the tech ceiling... Well the Spathi ar...
