Re: Sequels strife

In that analogy, Stardock would be Nintendo. Question, then. Paul Reiche and Fred Ford are sitting on the rights to something within the old games. If it's not the original aliens, what is it that they own? Are you saying the contract they signed before now leaves them with rights to nothing at all...

Re: Sequels strife

It's rather hard to believe the line that Stardock wasn't either pushing to include elements from the old series or putting some kind of pressure on Paul and Fred, if P&F felt their only recourse was legal action. They weren't. Stardock's constant position for a long time (like since 2014 at least)...

There are. I board game a little, and would play more if I had more real life friends that were into it. Current favorites are Cosmic Encounter and Agricola.

Good luck with that! I hope we get to see some details about what you guys are up to soon, but anything juicy's probably a long ways off yet.

Nuclear is frustrated that Stardock is emphasizing player-made content instead of what they're doing with the core game. I definitely see where he's coming from.

Re: About to try to beat Star Control 2...no spoilers!

All ships, friend and foe, play at the "awesome" setting. For the most part it does not play ships anywhere near their full potential. In the campaign, there are a few changes with the AI of the ships you fight: the VUX Intruder doesn't get to warp in next to you like it would in Super Melee, and th...

Re: A Hypothetical

The risk of losing the reward if certain conditions aren't met could make some people apprehensive if they felt they couldn't last the entire year on the same diet. But since you mentioned it, would there be any hesitation to agree to this experiment if the prize were only $1,000,000? Also, just fo...

Re: FAQ for the New Star Control

Have to say, Stardock is being extremely classy about this. I hope their game can live up to some of what made Star Control 2 great.

Re: A Hypothetical

This isn't a challenge very many people are going to hesitate about taking. There's no drawbacks except for people who are seriously living the dream with their life and interrupting that for a year would do more harm than $5,000,000 would benefit them. I would hire a nutritionist and do exactly wha...
