It is a little disappointing that Ilwrath is a hard counter for 10 points. This shouldn't happen, although I do remember the Ilwrath AI being skittish and cheesy against Lurg (it plays in a way that we wouldn't allow a net melee player to) but that doesn't approach truly difficult nor should a play...

These look really nice!

Two minor nitpicks:
1) Don't let anything end up being too dark for melee. The Crimson World looks like it might be.
2) Hope you have some way to differentiate Treasure Worlds and Auric Worlds.

Fair point. Endless melee against the same ship type can be kind of tedious. Any chance of mixed enemy battlegroups, or would it not make sense in terms of the story? Any possiblility of a difficultly slider for combats? I like it hard (though not too hard), but the melee can be a bit intimidating for beginners. Nothing fancy, something like Easy = Good AI, normal fleets; Average = Awesome AI, normal fleets; Hard = Awesome AI, expanded fleets. Won't cry if it's ...
