Re: Development to Begin This Fall on New Star Control Game

BTW, when you guys say Stardock is usually "PC-exclusive," do you mean "computers-only" or "not for Mac?" 'Cause my primary computer is a Mac, and playing games on my Windows laptop is a dicey proposition. Not to mention that a disproportionately large number of posters here seem to be Mac people. ...

http://starcontroller.com/?p=2232

Rumblings about wanting a Star Control sequel have come from within Stardock, details are still scarce at the moment.

Re: value of the original box and disks

I know I downloaded one a while ago, on abandonware I think. I don't know where that was though. Maybe google it? These days the originals are on GOG.com, and happen to be on sale for roughly the next month (though as UQM exists it's really only worth buying for SC1): http://www.gog.com/gamecard/st...

Re: No Earth game (SC2 Spoilers)

I'm noticing a lot of differences between the UQM version and the original. Aside from the dialogue being dumbed down a bit, they've also made some changes to gameplay, such as the lander only holding 50 kilotons, instead of 64. Most of the time, it isn't a big deal, but on high gravity worlds, the...

Re: Hey everyone!

It made it feel more like you were exploring a new universe instead of reading an already established map. The Starflight games took something closer to this approach. The first one in particular throws you into the unknown with relatively little information to go on (although interestingly enough ...

Re: Hey everyone!

But Starflight's was so frustrating. I hated it. At least SC2's was quick and easy. Yes, a large part of the problem really stems from the Starflight engine being over a decade older than SC2. Starflight's interface is *not* a role model, and the planetside interface is not an exception. I'm talkin...
