Re: UQM 0.7.0 Debian packages

Because Microsoft is evil , the domain name of Gekko's server has changed again . The packages can now be reached here: http://plantmonster.net/~oldlaptop/uqm-packages/deb/uf/ At the time of writing, your DNS server may not carry the new domain name yet - simply wait a while (a few days at most) an...

Re: UQM 0.7.0 Debian packages

Gekko (who has very kindly been providing hosting for these packages for nearly two years now) recently changed the domain name of his server. The new link is here:

Re: Hd net melee (possible issue)

Can you try with vanilla UQM as well?

Something fairly obvious I probably should ask about anyhow - you do know you shouldn't change the control method *after* you connect, right? (changing the control method away from Network Player will disconnect you.)

Re: Syreen

The ships are where the current danger comes from in that case - the Ur-Quan probably figure they can cleanse the threat at any time if dangerous psychic abilities develop.

It was probably a bad idea to have them all fried in butter though!

Re: Groombridge Log - Completed!

Paul reiche didn't pay off Gene Roddenberry and Glen Larson for his inspiration for various SC2 themes... This is a novelization of the Star Control 2 story (Star Control 2: The Book), not a completely separate work which happens to take some inspiration from other works. For that analogy to make s...

Re: SC2's Greatest Mysteries (spoilers)

There's also the simple fact that they're intended for *very* different purposes. It's like comparing a cargo helicopter to a stealth bomber, or a tugboat to an aircraft carrier. They do different jobs and are designed accordingly.

Re: The new Star Control thread

The new "Ultra Meelee" mode supports up to 8 people via the Internet fighting it out. I'm sure there will be people who think we should have stuck with 2 players max. There have actually been requests for this sort of feature to be added to some of the UQM mods/forks - I think a lot of people will ...

Re: The new Star Control thread

I've thought for a long time that SC3 isn't full of bad ideas - rather it's full of wasted potential, good ideas implemented really, really badly. In particular the 4X elements could have been very interesting - but the execution/implementation was so completely botched that what could have been som...

Re: The new Star Control thread

I know there are people out there that do like Star Control 3. However, at the end of the day, we have to ultimately decide what IS the officially recognized game universe (as far as the publisher is concerned) and we've decided that only the events of Star Control 1/2 count and that distinction is...
