Re: The Grand Council - Iteration 3

"Hmph. Lord 111, we used to respect you, our former rulers. I still do, or I USED to. But HARG! You wanna talk about INSTABILITY? Look at your idiot spider foot soldiers, the bunch of crazed maniacs that (GRR) KILLED millions of my people, DESTROYED my homeworld! SNORT! Don't you think they might ha...

Re: The Grand Council - Iteration 3

"HMPH! I've given you all my government's assurances that THEY want to put intra-Thraddash conflict behind them. HARG! That oughta be enough for you, right?" Glancing at the communications panel again, the Thraddash ambassador's eyes bug out, as though startled at its latest instructions from the ho...

Re: The Grand Council - Iteration 3 (OOC)

In case it's not obvious, I'm presuming Culture 20 fell, one way or another, shortly after Zelnick stole the Aqua Helix. It was thus Culture 21 which collapsed in the aftermath of the Spider War. I'm also imagining a conflict of ideas in the present Culture 22, between the old ways of combat and war...

Re: The Grand Council - Iteration 3

As soon as the Syreen delegate mentioned the Vindicator, Gr'Tonk began seething with rage. Slowly building as the other delegates spoke, the Thraddash's anger now boils over, and it explodes into a tirade: "Humans? ROAR! HUMANS? The Great Theives, those responsible for DECIEVING the fools of Culture...

Re: The Grand Council - Iteration 3

Suddenly, the doors of the council chamber open with a loud crash. Startled, the delegates present spin in their seats towards the new arrival. They behold a large, teal-skinned humanoid, about four meters tall. Its face is harsh and ugly, and a glowing cigar protrudes from the corner of its mouth. ...

Re: What Does Annoy You The Most In Super Meele?

Ok, I just discovered another one: The Ilwrath Avenger. This ship is simply not fast enough for me and I am absolutely terrible at using the cloaking device! The speed problem is quite simple to solve: use the planet! Ilwrath is massive enough that it gets an impressive boost from a gravity whip, a...

Re: The Pkunk Fury

In keeping with my habit of bringing up the PvP scenario in these threads: Pkunk behaves strategically a lot like a light version of the big 30-point ships. Assuming it has a good pilot, the Fury is reasonably effective against a pretty wide range of ships, with relatively few trouble spots. It ther...

Re: Google Code Archived UQM-HD

There is (and has been for some months) a git repository on sourceforge which is in sync with the last commit to the old svn repository, but it's never been used for actual development. Perhaps this is finally a reason to change that. (As those who are really familiar with git will know, it would be...

Re: Fwiffo & the StarRunner

(Incoming analysis of SC1 ships) :) I've always felt that the traditional Hierarchy ships from SC1 suffer from a lack of maneuverability. The Spathi Eluder is the only ship they have that is naturally fast. (Not including speed from special abilities like the Umgah's backward zipping or the Androsy...
