She'd be on board as an emergency objectivist hologram, of course.

Re: Stupid volcano

For the record, my trip to the UK was uneventful, though many friends and relatives have had their travel disrupted. It looks like the ash is going to stay around for a while, too.

Re: Random Discussions Megathread Dump

Yes, yes I would have preferred Brown. While ideologically I'd be closer to Labour than the tories, they looked a tired, tired party and Brown is possibly the least charismatic man in the known universe. Labour's slide to the right and rather authoritarian streak is also a little alarming, though I...

Well, half the time. I absolutely despise terror missions and will avoid them as much as possible. Later on, the points I gain from shooting down Very small-Large UFO's far outways the points lost from "skipping" a terror mission, although I still think theres the chance of an alien infiltration in...

Yeah, real photos and information and everything is pretty unusual for this site. The most Lukipela will give us is the odd teasing shot of a hairy hand or a we...

You would have preferred Brown? At least the Tories didn't get an outright majority - Hopefully Clegg and co. can moderate some of their nuttier ideas.

Re: Games other than Star Control

So, I've just been introduced to the addictive digital crack that is Masters of Orion II. Many hours have been lost to this hazard. I used to love MOO2, but got bored of it after a while because the AI was too predictable and the endgame a bit tedious. Of course, I was addicted to "creative" races ...

Re: What are you reading?

I'm not sure what's next. I'm leaning toward Iain M. Banks's Inversions or A. E. van Vogt's The Weapon Shops of Isher. Inversions is one of my favourites from Banks. Smaller in scale and more intimate than his usual sci-fi stuff. Not so much high-tech Culture shenanigans, though, if you like that s...

Indeed. He seems to be rather distractable. Stoked as I am for his TV series, he needs to sort out the books first.
