Re: Sequels strife
My own opinion about F&P making no progress... doing nothing with your property doesn't mean it belongs to someone else. As much as I'd love for F&P to make the sequel, we can't just say "you took too long, now it's mine". That's now how ownership of property works. I'm sure there are some legal nu...

Re: Did we miss the anniversary?
Yup, we did.
Only a couple of years before SC2 turns 30 now, maybe we'll do better not missing that one.
It has gotten a bit distressing to me how old the games of my youth are now.

Re: Games other than Star Control
I had no idea a Rogue Legacy sequel was even in development, I loved the original and will definitely be checking this one out.

Re: Ghost of the Precursors: A speculation and wish-list thread
One of the things I love about SC2 is that it doesn't feel the need to explain away every mystery and detail, and a lot is left open to individual interpretation even once you've seen everything and the credits have rolled. I want the same thing from GotP: Address plenty of hanging threads from the ...

Re: 4 Great Games That Everyone Should Try... or Else!
I don't think anyone believes SC2 is perfect beyond reproach. I know the entire lander part of the game is commonly cited as a weak point (I personally like it, but even then it does get repetitive, especially in the early parts of the game when you need to build up some resources and can't venture ...

Re: 4 Great Games That Everyone Should Try... or Else!
Yeah, I wrote off trying to get good (or even passable) with the Probe decades ago. While it's nice that they let you try to fly it yourself, it's pretty clearly designed to be used primarily by the AI.

Re: 4 Great Games That Everyone Should Try... or Else!
I remember a similar feeling when first starting to play SC2. Trying to keep a handle on momentum and not slam into the planet was tricky, but I felt it most with the slower ships, not the fast ones (mostly). While it took some good reflexes to keep the fast ships going where you wanted them to, the...

Re: 4 Great Games That Everyone Should Try... or Else!
Or alternatively, you can skip the non-obvious tutorial, fly straight off into hyperspace, and try tackling the most difficult challenge run the game has to offer. The fact that the game even allows the option is pretty impressive. (In all honesty, I have never once in all of the years I've been pla...

Re: 4 Great Games That Everyone Should Try... or Else!
Let's see, I have always loved the dialog first and foremost. The whole script is brilliantly written, balancing high stakes with copious amounts of humor. The worldbuilding is also tremendous, and all of the characters you interact with feel like they have their own agendas and take actions indepen...
