Re: The new Star Control thread

It would be nice if PR3 and FF had more creative control and more direct input. It's not the true SC2 sequel we've all dreamed of. If I recall, they weren't sure if were going to use the trademark, so they didn't bid on it. I'm just glad there are at least plans to keep some distance from the Star C...

Re: Development to Begin This Fall on New Star Control Game

I think some of the verbage from this official Stardock press release was seen [url=http://www.star-control.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=877]This isn't a shock to me as I think almost (all?) games Stardock makes and publishes are PC exclusives. I know a couple of friends that have played the n...

Re: Happy Belated 20 Year Anniversary Star Control II

Happy 20th anniversary! :D Someday, Star Control will be on the list of recent HD remakes or sequels to old-school games. Here's a few other games that would be included on the list: - Leisure Suit Larry - Wasteland 2 - Elite: Dangerous - Syndicate - Tribes: Ascend - GODUS ("innovative reinvention o...

Re: Ilwrath combat

I would use the Supox Blade. Their ability to fly backwards and move side-to-side to get around the Avenger's flamethrower helps a lot. I take advantage of the game's zooming feature to estimate their position when cloaked.

Re: Star Control 1 & 2 re-released on GOG.com

Yeah, I checked it out with Paul and he doesn't need us to beat on the big war drum (yet), but lets wait and see what happens there. good catch by Anthony, as always. It's probably the best thing to do. I hope it works out in TFB's favor. The only thing I can think of that may be similar to this wa...

Re: Star Control 1 & 2 re-released on GOG.com

That's one heck of a surprise and I just got home too. I think this is going to make the Star Control trademark more complicated since Atari used it in the sense that they allowed the Star Control name to be used for this. In any case, I hope this helps get the name out there and support the notion ...

Re: Matt Chat: Skylanders and more with Paul Reiche and Fred

Cool. I like how they mentioned Star Control and how it raises new questions as it answers new ones. Also, they pointed out how Skylanders is also a hybrid genre of toys and video games. It's great that Matt got a video interview with them; I think the last time I saw a video of Paul in an interview...

Re: TFB to make Augmented Reality Spyro game!

It's definitely geared towards a younger audience. I'm not quite sure what to think, but based on the e-mails Alex wrote back about hiring more people over the years, how this would have a more classic TFB feel and how this is one of their biggest projects ever, I'm actually curious about it. It's s...
