Re: I'm Back. I Think.

http://www.stardock.com/about/newsitem.asp?id=451171 " Will the Ur-Quan Masters and other related communities be involved? We hope so. As we get moving, we hope to bring in as many people as we can from the community to work with us. Half the enjoyment of making a new Star Control game is that, as ...

Re: I'm Back. I Think.

I think word of Stardock's new game got around pretty quickly (our community is fanatically loyal, but not very big. =P)

Now we're just waiting in silent anticipation to see what the game is like. =)

Re: Syreen

Ergo, CAN Syreen get fat? Perhaps. DO they get fat? Likely not. Maybe they're ALL super-fat and just use their mad psychic powers to make us THINK they're not. They do have the psychic ability to attract the males of ANY species. Part of that would surely be making themselves appear attractive base...

Re: Nasa to find Unzervault

It's always confused me why there was an isolated Vela star in game, and then a Velorum constellation in Ilwrath territory. Guess they mixed up Vela's genitive form. Anyway, interesting news! Remember that humanity renamed all the stars after they got HyperSpace maps from the Chenjesu, renaming the...

Re: SCII Voice Acting

I think that the player's reaction to the voices depends on whether they first played the game with them or not. I'm sure a lot of people who played the computer version had their own ideas about what the voices sounded like, and those could've been shattered by the 3DO voices. Having played SC2 si...

Re: SC2's Greatest Mysteries (spoilers)

I don't know about that... They sound like nice guys from in-game accounts... The Spathi tell you that they once encountered Mmrnmhrm trying to colonize a planet in their territory and when they asked the Mmrnmhrm to stop, the Mmrnmhrm apologized, left, and never bothered the Spathi again. I just d...

Re: SC2's Greatest Mysteries (spoilers)

Yes, much more something Kzer-Za would do, but still only using prime numbers as personal designation is weird. How do you pass the name when one dies somewhere in space? Perhaps this isn't really a name, but some equivalent of military rank - first in command is "1", then 2, 3, 5, 7, 11 e.t.c Tech...

Re: Kickstarter, Wasteland 2 and the Future for Star Control

Eh, if the creative minds behind TFB wanted to do the project I'm sure they could accomplish it outside the bounds of Activision by starting a 2nd, separate, company. Most big companies (like Activision) usually have a clause in their contracts preventing employees from engaging in secondary employ...

Re: Ship Scales?

The real doubt creeps in when I remember exploring systems in SC2 where for example our solar system was actually reasonably accurately scaled (if you ignore the size of the actual Precursor vessel) I don't know about that. If those planets were to scale (ignoring the ship and starbase), then Venus...

Re: Sign of a new starcontrol game?

Sounds like they need more animators for Skylanders DLC to me. I expect they'll be working on that for some time to come, with the amount of earnings potential in selling both digital and physical addon content; that sounds like something that would make their corporate overlords very happy indeed....
