Re: Sequels strife

Forgive me if this was already made clear: is renaming "Ghosts of the Precursors" due to legal issues (or even because it links to the lawsuit) or because they just didn't like the name? As for "help with technology", that's extremely vague (and probably on purpose). Technology could be game-engine ...

Re: 4 Great Games That Everyone Should Try... or Else!

I agree - I'm pretty sure the probes are meant to be controlled by an AI.... they are a probe after all :D Being human, I gave up on the probe pretty quickly. I think knowing which way it's "facing" has always been by greatest challenge. I personally don't remember the specifics of learning to fly S...

Re: 4 Great Games That Everyone Should Try... or Else!

I swear, I'm always late to the *party* (I blink and there's a whole new thread!). Time to add my three cents, which will be more of a ramble. I never played Starflight myself, and I'm not sure I could. I've seen gameplay through YouTube, and was sufficiently entertained by that. I first played Star...

Re: A new custom way to play Star Control!

Hey, thanks for sharing this! It looks really cool (both parts).
I'm looking forward to trying out the randomized version when I've got time.... and breaking the code some day, when I've got *more time*.

Re: [SPOILERS] *THEM*: manifestations and forms

JUST A WHOLE MESS OF BUILDINGS SHOT TO PIECES. PROBABLY THE WEIRDEST THING WE HAVE SEEN, OR NOT SEEN, ARE CORPSES... THERE AREN'T ANY! IT'S AS THOUGH SOMETHING APPEARED OUT OF NOWHERE, BLASTED EVERYTHING WITH NUCLEAR BAZOOKAS, THEN GRABBED ALL THE ANDROSYNTH AND DISAPPEARED. Maybe this has been sai...

"Prec-man"
But what does a "Prec-man" eat? (What ARE those little dots!?)

And does that mean that those 4 ghosts are dead "Prec-mans" / "Prec-men"?

Damn. That's deep.

Taking a "power-ranger" style spin on this... maybe ALL of the species combine together to make a giant mega-zor-- the precursors?
I mean size-wise it kinda (not really) works.

Re: [SPOILERS] *THEM*: manifestations and forms

I may be over-complicating this but, I'm pretty sure the Orz are also overly complicated. My personal understanding is they are one "manifestation" of their species. "*Them*" could be a different, uh... "manifestation" of the "same" entity/entities. (I'm using quotes a lot. Should I switch to asteri...

Re: This can’t be legal, can it?

Okay, but isn't this project under GPL? My understanding is that the IP "owner" (unless explicitly defined) is the person who wrote their part of the code. If I'm correct on that, then any person who wrote code for the UQM project can lodge a complaint. Disclaimer: I'm not a lawyer (should be obviou...
